Ft Recovery 2-8 and 18th seed has accepted a playoff berth and will play at Marion Local on
Friday. On October 4th the Flyers beat the Indians 62-0.

If it’s numbers related for dropping out, it makes complete sense. For any other reason, it’s just avoidance of playing ML. However, I would prefer to play them than many other schools as a 1st round draw. ML does everything with class. They wouldn’t run the score up.

If the OHSAA truly believes that allowing 16 teams in is legit they should sanction any team that refuses to play. But they won’t because they know it’s a farce and a money grab by them. Shameful.

I believe they played Bealsville a few years ago in the regular season and only won 50-0. It was after Bealsville school got shut down and a court ruled it opened. They wouldn’t kill anyone and they don’t have an ego to feed. From what I’ve read, their coach is about as classy as they come.

Why?? Doesn't make any sense, they're competing every year for the state title in D7 for not only themselves but the MAC. This allows other MAC schools to compete in D5/6 and if memory serves there's been multiple years where the MAC has had 2-3 teams representing them in the title game. No reason for ML to hurt the MAC conference by doing something like that and knock another from the MAC out.
