The only thing needing tweaking or fixing is the number of teams allowed in. It should be eight. Make it an accomplishment again instead of a fund raiser for the OHSAA.

Can Logan choose not to play this game? I doubt if that’s an option because OHSAA would be pissed that they would not get the $$, but it’s the best option if available.

I don't see any benefits in logan to playing this game. The Cons far out weight the Pros.

I've been interviewing former Chieftains for nearly 20 years about their memories playing for Logan.

One thing stands out in all those conversations: How often these men have a desperate desire to put the pads on again and to play again with their brothers.

What are the "cons" of playing on Friday night? Losing again? Injuries are in inherent risk in the game of football - but these guys could all get injured "cheerleading" in the powder puff game.

These young men have (at least) one more chance to put on the pads and helmets to play football with their brothers one more time.

Either there is extreme value in that - or former players have been lying to me for decades.

I agree that 16 is too man teams to make the playoffs. But they were the rules when the season started. This group earned the right to play an 11th game.

Maybe we should support the kids and coaches instead of telling them how dumb it is for them to play again?

Actually three teams have already said they would not take the 16th seed and play Marion Local. Its an option but Logan has too much pride and history to take that route nor should they

The latest Region 28 saga - Lockland, Cedarville, and New Miami have all declined 16 seed playoff spots, therefore Ft. Recovery is next up and has officially accepted to play Marion Local in round one.

I'm sure the seniors would want one last time to put on the pads. Leave it up to the kids.

Congratulations to Logan making the playoffs but I do not care who you are losing 63-0 in a playoff game is not good for any program.
I do not care if it is a regular season game or a playoff game and this being a playoff game may make it a slightly worse situation.
Good luck Logan hope nothing but the best for you.

I just happened to check the D-1 schools ( 64 total Schools ) that happened to sneak their way into the playoffs. There are 5 Schools that also have a 1-9 record, 3 in one Region alone.

I would agree LL. I'm looking at it from an injury and the point of having to play a team that is more often then not going to dominate the bottom seeded team.

After reading what I had posted, I was not trying to demean Logan in anyway. Logan is only playing by the rules and the system that has been set up. I should not have used the word "sneak" when referring to the 5 Div-1 schools either, as they are also playing by the rules. Sometimes we maybe forget that there will be 458 schools playing in the playoffs, I'm sure that there are many schools that are not pleased with their won-lost record, yet it may very well be one of the only chances they will ever get to play in the playoffs.

All these schools with a bad record will have players at one time in their lives can say they played in a play-off game. Now the ones that turn it down can say I should have played but we turned it down. That is when the others around just might roll their eyes and think----RIGHT

I dont care how many teams make the playoffs but there should be something that says you cant make it unless you have at least a .500 record

That’s funny. Many teams in this area of the state duck competition so they can pad a record. There are areas of the state where teams struggle to get .500 because of the competition. We sometimes have a team with a losing record beating a team with a winning record in the playoffs. And without question we have several teams with lesser records beating teams with much better winning records.

That snotty attitude is hilarious coming from SEO.

I wonder how many D2 schools will want to play NY in the future now? Win and you're in! :)

That is true. But a team with 1 win should never make the playoffs

Agreed. OHSAA should be embarrassed. But instead they’re counting the $$$$
