Interesting matchup tonight…will see if we can keep the ball away from Fairland. Ball control will win the game

Fairland dominated the first half, but shot themselves in the foot numerous times. ZT punted 5 times in the first half, but had a chance to make it 17-7 at the half. They had a dropped pass in the endzone to end the half. Zane Trace could not get the running game going all night. It was 31-0 when the Pioneers hit a long pass for a TD to end the scoring at 31-7.

Fairland also lost 2 fumbles inside the 5 yard line in the first half. Fairland should’ve been up 31-0 at half. It was domination. Hope they can keep it up!Bozo wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 11:32 pm Fairland dominated the first half, but shot themselves in the foot numerous times. Congrats to the Dragons on your victory over the Pioneers.

Ethan Wall 30-35 for 302 and 2 touchdowns Friday night. Fairland used the screen game all over the field. The fact that ZT refused to come up and press the Fairland WR group at all was crazy. Wall was playing pitch and catch all night.
Fairland winning this game by 30 is super impressive not only did Fairland struggle with killing drives with fumbles ZT didn’t have an answer all night for Fairland on either side of the ball.
Fairland made a statement to ZT that I am sure has the ZT faithful pretty upset. The Pioneers looked over matched and unprepared tough way to end the season if you are ZT.
For Fairland it is on to West Muskingum. For ZT it’s back to the drawing board and what the future holds. The roster has some nice pieces but questions exist as to what is next for the Pioneers hopefully it all gets settled quick.

Coach Wears was handed the keys to a pretty solid program with some really good talent 2 years ago after an 11-1 season under Coach Hinton. His stubbornness to go find assistant coaches, lack of discipline and inabilities to make in game adjustments shows. Last years Zt team went 8-4, dealt with a lot of injuries but had a decent season with a first year coach. This years team had way to much talent to go 6-5 in a weak svc. The future for Zt football doesnt look to promising Imo…….

I disagree about the next two years as far as talent in the football program. I think they will win 7 or more games in each of the next two seasons.Svcguru wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 7:37 am Coach Wears was handed the keys to a pretty solid program with some really good talent 2 years ago after an 11-1 season under Coach Hinton. Also, they had a key injury early in the season at QB which may have hurt them in getting a couple more wins. Especially the North Union game.

How many lineman do you lose on offense? That will be the difference in where you finish in the league next seasonBozo wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 1:18 pmI disagree about the next two years as far as talent in the football program. Re: Region 19 Zane Trace (6-4) at Fairland (9-1)
3 of 5 offensive lineman return. A lot of defense lineman because they rotate many kids in there.
Re: Region 19 Zane Trace (6-4) at Fairland (9-1)
Piketon has their o line back that will be the test for both of us
Re: Region 19 Zane Trace (6-4) at Fairland (9-1)
And a darn good QB for Piketon too!
I think we will be fine. Return a bulk of the lineman on offense and a lot of linemen got time on the defensive side. Skill wise we return some very nice players. If this is the second year Wears has applied elsewhere thn it is time for a change because he obviously doesn’t want to be a Pioneer. Really need someone willing to build a “staff” and not just a couple guys.
