Burg got a little too conservative in the second half and then a little too cute. They just needed to keep running it. They owned the line of scrimmage tonight. Great call at the end to seal it.

Barnesville will be the deserved favorite but I wouldn’t be surprised either way.
100% Fact
Not sure Barnesville deserved to be favored. I was on it otherwise.

I won’t buy into Barnesville again. That schedule is so weak. You could tell they hadn’t seen anybody close to Wheelersburg’s level. They were lucky to stay within 17.

BIG TIME win for Burg, great job. Guess Barnesville circling you on the calendar was all for not, impressive to hold a team down like that who came in averaging 50 plus a game. AWESOME job and congrats

I was surprised as well. Expected Barnesville to be bigger and faster than they were based on the comments I read.

You have to understand they’ve had Wheelersburg circled for a year
Circled for another early exit in the playoffs. Go Burg!

What is the best team Wheelersburg has beaten?
Record wise. Barnesville.

They scored at least 44 in every game. I watched a good bit of the first half and they couldn’t move the ball.

They got unlucky to get Wheelersburg in Week 11, but they would have struggled against any quality opponent. You just can’t play a schedule that week and hope to have any chance at playoff success.

They get behind by a couple scores and panic will set in and mistakes are going to start happening. I'll take Barnesville by at the very least 17.
Good thing you didn’t have money on this game. Go Burg!

Guessing you won't be back on for another year, tough loss especially with what some were saying was Barnesville best ever. Probably keep the calendar up and prepare yourselves through the season better

Sorry about all the trolling replies. Just tired of all the negative talk all year. I’m surprised someone hasn’t said Barnesville is down this year. Lol Burg came in with a good game plan and owned the line of scrimmage. They did get a little cute at times and drives ended in punts. But for the most part, they controlled the game. Great win Pirates! Good luck next week at Union Local.

Burg being able to play the “under dog” role when they were never the under dog in this match up but based on seeding they were. It goes to show you playing up in competition pays dividends. Barnesville once again finds how playing Burg for the third year in a row and the same outcome

I honestly thought this was Barnesvilles weakest team out of the three. I didn’t really post about it because I wasn’t sure if burg was actually better. I thought both ironton and prep would handily beat the rocks if they would advance.
