Has Unioto silently taken over Chillicothe’s position as the big bad Ross County school? Unioto is fine in the SVC imo. Now if they go on a 5-7 year run of winning the conference but failing to do anything in the postseason, then it may be time to look around. Like someone said on another thread, Unioto left once and came running back. You also have to look at every other sport as well as proximity. Money spent to travel is huge. Unioto is in a small geographic conference. Maybe smallest in seo. It would be hard to pull the trigger on 10-15 minute conference games for 30-60 minute drives in terms of cash.

I think Unioto could absolutely compete in the FAC and be better prepared for the postseason, but it wasn’t too many years ago, Unioto was on a 22 game losing streak in football. It’ll be an interesting discussion but I just don’t see any moves coming anytime soon.

As for this game, I was happy to see Unioto have a shot in week 11. It was a great game to watch as an outsider. With that said, I work every other week in Holmes County. (Enough that I consider them my second team, behind VC). This WH team is not the same WH teams over the last few years. Not taking anything away from them but the Knights just beat the first team with a winning record last night in week 11.

I think at this point it’s just the luck of the draw. We will never be a team that can truly compete in D4 just because we will never have the depth or size. I don’t think who we schedule will really have that big of an impact. However I think there were 4-5+ teams we would’ve beaten in the first round this year and 2022. Waverly got an easier draw than us as a 10 seed. The 5 teams ranked ahead of us on fantastic 50 in the region are the 1, 2, 3, 8 and 13 seeds. People can make fun of us all they want but we’ve gotten some pretty terrible draws as a top 4-5 seed.

Beating up on D5 and D6 schools as they grow and will potentially hit D3 in the next few years and gloat about dominance is pathetic. Sad really. 3 straight 1st round bow outs. Lol. I have to agree with Unioto enrollment putting them in Divsion IV- the SVC does not do them any favors as far at preparing for the playoffs- beating Division 5/6 schools that regularly lose in the 1st round of playoffs does not help Unioto if there goal is to be competitive in Division IV playoffs.
