Thoughts?

Don’t know anything about CV but hoping for a Tomcat win! Good luck and good health to both teams!

CV is a spread offense that has a good passing game.
They have some speed with some solid pass catchers.

Good luck to the Tomcats in your second round game against Conotton Valley.

Our secondary scares me with a spread offense. We’ve historically struggled against a good pass game. Maybe we go up there and steal one? Good luck Cats!

I think this is a true toss up game. Contrasting styles make good fights as they say. Trimble's staff had been there, done that in the playoffs so they may have the edge there. The 5 teams CV has played that have a pulse(Malvern, NCT, BT, Toronto and SCC) has averaged putting up 40 points a game on them so I'm sure Trimble can move the ball. But in watching some of Trimble this year their secondary is small so that may be a problem.

It'll come down to whether or not CV can stop the run, if they can slow the running game of Trimble down CV should be able to win this one by 14 or more. Just really isn't anything to boast about when I look at Trimble's record as they didn't beat a single team with a winning record, CV has 4 teams on their schedule that is still playing going into week 12 now.

We sprayed the ball all over Gluster. CV will do all that and then some.

Typical of Racine fans to say they sprayed their balls all over somebody. Truthfully you people are kinda creepy.

It's a shame the one Trimble fan on Yappi isn't on here talking the talk, wants to talk about the site and how Trimble and Danville are the top 2 teams in the region. Love to get his thoughts on this one

CV for the most part did very well against the run when they played Steubenville Catholic Central.

I'm on here trust me. I barley post because the site is dead it seems.

And as far as me thinking those 2 are the best in the region, I'm completely biased and I'm going off recent history.

Shadyside and NC are unbelievably down right now. River is struggling with low numbers I've heard. The "traditional powers" of the region are having some lean years.

Trimble is not the same Trimble it was 5-10 years ago, no. But as far as the game, if the Tomcats can buckle down in the secondary and make some plays and get the run gaming going, I think the Tomcats win it by a td. If not, then it may be a long night Friday.

Good to see ya ;) you can see my predictions on this one in my first post and I'm right there with you. If Trimble can't get the rushing attack going it could turn ugly that CV passing attack could make it rough on the secondary. Figured you had seen some full games of CV, I've only seen some highlights when looking this game up. Seems like they throw a ton

I watched the live stream of CV vs SCC. They went back and forth with SCC until the 4th where they pulled away. There passing game is good for what they have available. I counted 14 on the sidelines for the Rockets. I doubt depth will be an issue in this one, but it could be going down the road for them if they do win Friday night. Trimble is 3-0 vs CV all time with the last game played in 1975.

It's DVII for the most part you're not going to get deep roster unless you're a Marion Local type of school, generally speaking the DVII I have seen might have anywhere from 19-30 man rosters (30 being on the high side for most DVII in this area).

Conotton Valley won their first ever playoff game last week.

Very interesting matchup because it’s a contrast in historically different programs and what they’re currently doing offensively.

If Trimble is to win, it’s not going to be a high scoring affair and a lot of high percentage execution in crunch time.

For CV, they’ll need to be efficient on offense and get Trimble into a lot of 3rd and longs. If they can do that, then CV moves on.

Strength of Schedules are almost the same. Love what Trimble does and happy to see CV be successful in football the last 4-5 years.

I was looking at CV's roster. 26 kids , 10 seniors. This is "their year" , so to speak.

EDIT: just saw their schedule for next year. Unless the bus breaks down they will win 8 or 9 games by showing up.

Then we're on the higher side of the roster count for the area. If I counted correctly I counted 41 total

Started watching more of CV. O Line is BAD. QB can scramble and make plays with his arm and legs and can make throws under pressure. He's their Dude that makes the engine go.
CV defense is average at best.

Agreed. Plus other than that QB they really look slow on film, to coin a phrase. If Todd Brady can scheme up a good junk defense the Cats can win this one. Blitz there teeth in and run, run, run on offense. Go Tomcats.
