I am sorry for high expectations for this very talented Ironton team. Ironton fans who know me, know it all comes from a good place lol. Maybe your Trojans can score this time. Might make going to the game worth it for me. I will leave you with the same invitation as last time, We can chat in the parking lot in the second half when the running clock starts.BuckeyeBlood wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 7:51 amGod forbid Portsmouth scores and you’re going to stage a walkout, maybe protest in the OU parking lot

Give it all you got, Trojans......remember what Ironton did on your Senior Night!! Yes, the Fighting Tigers are heavy favorites, but just a couple of years ago a heavily favored Ironton was only up 10-6 in the 4th quarter at the Tank, and ended up winning 17-6. That Fighting Tiger team made the state championship game, losing I believe to Kirtland.
Strange things can happen in playoff football. Favorites win most of the time, but not always. I look for Portsmouth to try a wrinkle or two that they didn't do the 1st time around.
GO TROJANS!!

Give me the Tigers in a repeat performance. I have no dog in the fight except that I want a state championship in SE Ohio and the best hope for that lies with Ironton.

Block, tackle and take care of the football. Ironton had 4 turnovers in the first half against Worthington Christian. Can't do that against good teams. Ironton better come out with a chip on their shoulder. Portsmouth will take advantage of those costly turnovers.

I will give Worthington Christian credit they came to play.
And have Ironton all the wanted for 2 quarters.
Yes penalties and 4 turnovers hurt Ironton but they cleaned it up after the half and showed complete dominance.
I also am no fool in thinking they can continue to have penalties and turnovers and expect to win.
Hope they will wake up and see other teams are wanting nothing more than defeat them.
As for Portsmouth I believe they will come out hard but Ironton’s depth will be the difference as they pull away in a 42-14 win

This poor poster is going to be remembered for this comment . Then says it comes from a good place?? I'm sorry but I guess I've never heard of a fan wanting to walk out in the middle of a game but it was coming from a good place.BuckeyeBlood wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 7:51 amGod forbid Portsmouth scores and you’re going to stage a walkout, maybe protest in the OU parking lot

I’m good lol. I don’t stay up late hoping grey goose likes my post. I haven’t missed an Ironton Football game in 5 years. Ironton people know the kind of fan I am.greygoose wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2024 12:09 amThis poor poster is going to be remembered for this comment . Then says it comes from a good place?? Here is to hoping Ironton puts up at least 50 more so they can say they dropped 100 on the trojans in 2024.

Who cares lmao? They would put up oodles of points on any team that they ended up playing twice. Portsmouth while a very good team, doesn’t have the depth or stamina to keep up with a team like Ironton, who are literal state title contenders. Just got out and play ball, where those F Ironton shirts proudly boys.ChecksNBalances wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 9:51 am Here is to hoping Ironton puts up at least 50 more so they can say they dropped 100 on the trojans in 2024.

Ironton 49-13. Will probably go check this one out, but mostly to see the shenanigans in the stands.*

Refs kept these boys from fights this year with the penalties.
Re: Week 12 : #8 (8-3) Portsmouth @ #1 (10-1) Ironton
Portsmouth needs to consider a complete overhaul of some sort to change culture. Not a good look to see kids consistently get personal fouls only to be reinserted into the game time and again.
