Winner of this one should take the region and could possibly be the favorite for the state title.

Well here it is. Can Ironton break through and get back to the regional final. Both teams have played pretty stiff schedules

Re: Week 13 : #4 (9-2) Harvest Prep vs #1 (11-1) Ironton
There are two types of teams that can beat Ironton. One that runs between the tackles really well and solid on defense. Or a team who can match athleticism. Prep is all 3.
Prep will be the most athletic team Ironton has faced. Prep also has a legitimate player like terry. Number 17 is big time.
If it comes down to field position and special team play, Ironton will win. If that doesn’t come into play, prep will advance. Prep has played a lot more disciplined this year but still isn’t the best at it.

Turnovers and penalties. If Ironton plays a clean game they can beat anyone. 10 penalties like last night won't cut it against hpwobycat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 7:38 am There are two types of teams that can beat Ironton. Prep and Canadian team remind me of each other. Canadian team was just HUGE in the trenches.wobycat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 7:38 am There are two types of teams that can beat Ironton. Where we thinking it’ll be??
Chillicothe, Waverly or Jackson?? Jackson probably isn’t the most central but I hope it’s there obviously the biggest and nicest.

Knowing how Prep travels, I’m going to guess Jackson is off the table. I’d say Waverly. Hopefully they give Ironton the home stands.sportsfan2015 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 8:04 am Where we thinking it’ll be??

I’ve seen both Clarkson and Prep in person and they have nearly zero similarities. Prep is nowhere near as big but their bigs are talented unlike Clarkson’s unathletic, slow line. Prep is deeper at the skill positions and has a QB that can kill you with the run. Prep has several athletes who can run with Terry anywhere he goes. Without Terry, Ironton isn’t in the game with Clarkson as they had nobody who could match up with him. This will come down to the Ironton QB and RB play. If Terry can run DBs off, the Ironton QB and RBs can move the ball efficiently on the ground opening up Terry for a few big plays. I like Ironton to win this one, but the QB play under pressure will be crucial.XandOs wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 8:02 amPrep and Canadian team remind me of each other. Harvest Preps OL isn’t very good. They hide those guys in their scheme. Watch the game a little closer.GoBigI wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 8:24 amI’ve seen both Clarkson and Prep in person and they have nearly zero similarities. You’re talking about Clarkson North like they aren’t very good. They played toe to toe with St. Ed’s (I watched it on TV couple Saturdays ago) they also just beat St. Iggy who is down and went 1-9 but also played one of the toughest schedules in the country.

Re: Week 13 : #4 (9-2) Harvest Prep vs #1 (11-1) Ironton
Ironton is averaging 47.92 points per game while giving up an average of 11 points per game.
Harvest Prep is averaging 32.45 points per game while giving up an average of 13.72 points per game.
Harvest Prep will want the game to be like last year; low scoring and grind it out, making Ironton’s defense stay on the field. If Ironton can get HP into 3rd and long and make them play behind the chains, then their defense will be fine.
For Ironton, I think that the 2 X factors for them are Copas and Zane Williams. Terry is going to get his touches and make plays. However, Copas and Williams are underrated because of the plays that Terry makes. If Ironton limits turnovers and gets their defense off the field, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see them move onto the Regional Finals.
I think that whomever wins this game, is playing in the State Championship at the bare minimum.

IMO that Canadian team wasn't as good as everyone hyped them up to be . Harvest prep imo would beat any team that ironton played this year . I'm a Burg fan but still would like to see ironton win this game cause if Burg somehow gets by WM would love to see a rematch of Burg and ironton not saying that Burg would win just saying the game would have a great atmosphere and crowd hp doesn't really have a following but atleast harvest prep will have just as many transfers as ironton does so should be a great gameXandOs wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 8:28 amHarvest Preps OL isn’t very good. I'm rooting for any team in SE Ohio that could win a state championship in any sport. Go Tigers!

Ironton would be home team all the way though state championship game due to rankingOVC wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 8:07 amKnowing how Prep travels, I’m going to guess Jackson is off the table. They were huge because they were 18-20 year old dudes post high school.
My memory is not great, but my eyes are.
They looked like college men.
The announcers mentioned it over & over too about their size & IRON still hung tough & missed being undefeated by one point.
Their O/D lines averaged 6 foot 5 & 268 pounds & they werent slow.

Not sure how you got me saying that quote lol. I watched the Canadian team. They were very big but they weren’t that fast compared to Ironton. Prep is going to match Irontons speed. They are fast.Tjhtygeverve wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 1:42 pmThey were huge because they were 18-20 year old dudes post high school.

Also preps offense and defensive line is legit this year. Someone earlier said they weren’t. They are. They went and picked a few dudes up.
This game is going to come down to one thing. Whether special teams and field position come into play. If prep has to use their special teams in pivotal parts of the field. Ironton will take advantage and beat them. If not, prep will win. That’s my prediction

Hamilton Twp. wouldn’t be off table for consideration
