Wk 13: Wheelersburg vs, West Muskingum

Post by The Nature Boy »

This game should be close. West Muskingum appears to be a complete team in all phases of the game. Union Local appeared to be able to throw on Burg and I think the grass slowed Burg down some. I know both teams played on it. Thoughts.

I'm going to roll with Burg in this one, but West Muskingum played big against Fairland. Just looking at this one and the map, Teays Valley could be the location right at 25-minute difference in drive time for the teams and it's a bit closer for WM who is the higher seed. Going with Burg by 7

Burg looked very lethargic against union local. They can’t be that way anymore. Not seen west muskingam but my guess is this game can go either way. Hopefully burg can get it done

if the Burg can find a couple of safeties and don't hold every other play , they can stay in the game.

Trays Valley is still playing. So they more than likely will not be able to host.

If Burg plays like they did against UL, they’ll lose this game. WM can play some ball and cannot be taken lightly.

Not sure what’s going on in the secondary, but Burg has some work to do. Same with the penalties. And we’ve already hot on the play calling…

Maybe Logan might host. Only an hour for WM and 1.5 for Burg.

Yeah that’ll knock them out of it then, Logan probably a good option then possibly Nelsonville York?? NY seems to always find a way to host deep in the playoffs.

Burg never plays well there. I’m not sure they’ve won a playoff game there.

Athens would be a pretty good spot or even maybe chillicothe who knows but i do know if Burg plays like they did against the jets then it's basketball season come Friday they just looked like they had won the game before they got off the bus . WM is better than UL Burg definitely has some stuff to work on this week Lets GO BURG!!!!

IMO was Fairland really any good or just an average team who had an easy schedule ? WM is good but how good ? Don't know much about them besides watching the fairland game last night and they looked descent against fairland but the dragons didn't play very well if you ask me. I guess we will find out Friday and atleast it's not gonna be a 3 hour drive

They beat Licking Valley and almost beat Garaway and New Lexington. Nuff said.

Can’t judge teams by scores. Last night burg was clearly the better team of the two. But two long kick off runs kept what probably would have been a 35-7 type of ballgame and turned it into a 28-23 game.

Having said that I’m 100% sure that west muskingham
Will have a better team than Union local. Burg can not give up two long kick off returns. Can’t have dropped passes or missed tackles like last night. Toss up game.

I’d be very surprised if it was in Chillicothe it’s a lot closer for Burg and with them the 14 seed just don’t see it. Never know though

West Muskingum is legit.
Beat D3 Licking Valley who is 11-1
Lost 13-20 to 10-2 Garaway
Lost 35-38 to D4 New Lex who is 11-1
All 3 of these teams are in the round 3 of the playoffs.

They are definitely legit. Burg will be the underdog in this game.

I’ve watched a few West M games this year. Became interested in them after they sent the Sesay kid to Ohio State. I will say with confidence they are one of the best coached HS teams you’ll see around here. If their opponents have a weakness their staff knows it and will exploit it. The team doesn’t have the “look” wow factor off the bus but they are a bunch of tough kids that won’t back down from anyone. Defense isn’t overly sized but they are FAST and will come up and lay a hit on you. They won’t beat themselves so Wheelersburg is going to have to dig deep to get it done.

If WM has a passing game Burg loses, can't cover a grandmother in a wheel chair.

LOL!!!

Sadly that’s a good analogy.
