Prep will be the most athletic team Ironton has faced. Prep also has a legitimate player like terry. Number 17 is big time.

If it comes down to field position and special team play, Ironton will win. If that doesn’t come into play, prep will advance. Prep has played a lot more disciplined this year but still isn’t the best at it.
I heard #17 possibly tore his acl in the game friday
How do people know this? If it’s true, irotnon has more of an advantage.

Ironton also went toe to toe with maybe the best team in state this year Cinci Anderson in the jamboree game. The game was tied at 16 and Anderson scored with like 10 seconds remaining to win the varsity portion. Ironton according to Drew Pasteur has played a tougher schedule. I guess we will find out next week.

Wouldn't Athens be a reasonable spot for this game to be played?

The kids for sure is a player, but I don't think it's going to hurt them as much as you would think. The back up come in and took two 70 to 80 yard runs to the house. Defensively might hurt them a little more. But the kid that came into the game Friday doesn't appear to be much of a let down. He played well.

Early on in the year Prep was the favorite to win the region. Right now I'd call it a tossup could go either way. I do believe if Ironton plays mistake free they win. But when was the last time that happened.

Good news in this game is they won’t have to worry about constant unsportsmanlike play from the other team as it is dealt with by the opposing coach.

Ironton relies a lot on individual speed offensively. Prep will limit that more than any other D5 team. Will need to run it consistently this week as those chunk plays will just be harder to come by. If they can give Schreck time, passing game will be fine.

Defensively Ironton has the guys to match up with Prep passing it. I don’t see Prep moving it consistently through the air. Play action stuff could be effective if they establish the run. I think the game will be won or lost by Ironton keeping Prep from getting 5-7 yards on 1st and 2nd down running the ball. If they keep Prep in 3rd and 7 or 8, life gets much tougher for them. If they can stay on schedule, run the ball, and control the game, it will be an absolute dogfight.

Winner of this one won’t see a better collection of players the rest of the way. May see a better football team, but these two have the most individual talent in D5. I think Ironton is the better team, but they’ll need to earn it Friday.
Well said.

Calpreps has IHS 31-21.
Drew Pasteur has Ironton by 20, can’t imagine that. A win by one would make me happy.
Playoff time. A win is a win…

This game could end up a close HP win or IHS winning in a blowout, or of course something in between those extremes. Comes down to turnovers as most games at this point do.

I think IHS is the better team, but HP is no slouch. Play a reasonably clean game, and IHS wins.

I believe Harvest Prep can win this game. Ironton can't take them lightly. For Ironton to win, they will need to come out firing on all cylinders and keep the hammer down till the end. A score every possession.

I'm sure they are not taking anyone lightly at this point. A score every possession, though that would be nice for the Tigers, is not needed. Take care of the ball and limit penalties they should be fine. One holding call last year cost them a score and the game. Should be a good game that can go either way.

Haven’t watched Prep much other than a little of the Ashland game but I do think Ironton has faded just a tad throughout the year for whatever reason. I’ll still take the tigers by 14.
