Flip a coin? This game could go by quick.
Fort's schedule is way tougher, Cadets have managed to stay undefeated after week 10. Buckeye Trail still a heavy run tendency offense? Curious.
Grandview, to their credit, managed to not let a pretty mediocre regular season schedule be an albatross tonight vs Colonel Crawford. GH has had some pretty good teams over the years under their current coach.
Very gifted runningback that Grandview has. Gut would say that Fort Frye should win this, but it's probably been a while since they've seen a ballcarrier like the one they're tasked with limiting next Friday. Schedule hasn't been much of an issue for the Bobcats, evidently.

I think it will be a pretty fair matchup on paper. Grandview has 1 Rb with over 1500 but they struggle to pass the ball. CC was down this year but still beat Monroe. Got to respect a 12-0 team. Fort is low on numbers as well. Fort has the advantage as they’ve never played and teams seem to struggle vs Wing T the first time. Coach Huck has a great record when playing teams a first time.

Henry Ohlinger Rb for GH is a beast though. Looking at everything else it looks average.

Been a minute since I've seen Elgin, so can't remember if they are Wing T or double Wing. Aside from the Comets, yeah, I don't think GH has seen the Wing T in a while. Their coaches are pretty experienced, so they'll have an idea on what to look for. Comes down to the kids making it happen.EasternDspy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 12:08 amformerfcfan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 11:45 pm Flip a coin? This game could go by quick.

For that matter on seeing things for the first time, GH (not that I can think of) hasn't played in a year or two that typically physical, beef in the trenches and generally technical squad that is correctly associated with Ft Frye. It'll be an interesting game. Could see this either being a >14 point FF win, a narrow FF win or Grandview in a squeaker.

formerfcfan - Thanks for the insights into GH, that is great info. I will be rooting for the Cadets next week, will be interested to see where this one gets played (Logan makes sense, but who knows, could end up in Zanesville, Cambridge, Byesville. Just depend on who is willing to host and who's back the OHSAA wants to scratch). I think the other game in Region 23, Northmor vs Ridgewood, is really going to be a dandy. Both teams are really good and have played difficult schedules. Good luck to FF.

Have followed GH for a few years. This has been a great year for the Bobcats- they carry 6 seniors who have been with the program for 4 years and have done a tremendous job getting GH back where they are. Do not need to speak about Ohlinger.
Got this quote from Colonel Crawford coach thru their local newspaper after losing 13-6.
"They have some dudes, not just one guy," Eagles coach Jake Bruner said. "Everybody wants to talk about (Ohlinger), but they have a lot of different weapons, and speed is the name of their game. I asked our kids to be physical tonight: They were. I asked our kids to play hurt tonight: They did.
Grandview will show up and play hard and see where the cards fall.

It’s a new year so this don’t matter much but last year Grandview lost to Newcomerstown. Fort beat Newcomerstown 50-13 the next week.

Are we assuming Miller won't be back? Pretty big blow if so...

Sounds like Grandview is low on numbers and dealing with multiple injuries. Played last night without both tackles. Both these teams been fighting injury bug all year. Also Grandview starts 7 Srs. They lost an all state player week 1.
Also Grandview beat Colonel Crawford who is super young played a bunch of freshman. They’ll be good next year.
