Trust me, I would be the last person to dish Burg’s program. I LOVE to see my Tiger’s beat them but that doesn’t mean I don’t respect their program. The thing I’ve always noticed about Wheelersburg is you have to play them hard all four quarters. You can have them down 17 points starting the fourth quarter and they’re going to come right back at you hard and pay no attention to the board. I’ve seen that for many many years..guess it’s just ingrained in the programwobycat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2024 6:59 amYou mean like “house money’ ? Lol I hate that one.kantucky wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2024 4:41 am I don't know, maybe there's some reason unknown to me that the game wouldn't be hosted in Portsmouth?...but if there's no problem with Portsmouth, why in God's Green Earth would OHSAA send both teams fan's traveling 45 miles (for Ironton and not much better for Burg) to Jackson?? I'll drive it if I have to but.......why? I know one thing...Rooster's in Waverly loved seeing Ironton in town...it was packed with Tiger fans..
I nailed the outcome of tonight's HP game, including a running clock in the 4th qt but...Burg? they worry me
It tickles me seeing some of the predictions from neutral schools talking and telling what Ironton needs to do to win...they're so....well, generic.... it quacks me up! they're usually just......'football cliche's'
The trolls haven’t made it on the board yet but they are coming. Don’t let them fool you. Real Burg fans are excited to watch this game and we are hoping for a victory. We know the burg kids will be prepared and play hard but by we also know football and understand that Ironton is really good and it’s going to take burg all four quarters to make a go at it.
Look at their playoff picture this year, they start out 0 - 3, they're 2 & 4 after six weeks but yet they’re playing for the regional championship this coming Friday. I stand to be corrected, but if I’m not wrong, I think Ironton was 6 & 3 going into the playoffs in 1999 and finish the second in the state.
Then.. take 2021, Ironton takes down Wheelersburg to open up the season 40 to 6. Week 3 of the playoffs and Burg shocks Ironton fans….knocking the Tigers out by shutting down Ironton’s supercharged offense 17 - 14.
All that to say this….Burg doesn't know they’re the underdog. They think they’re the giant killers. I predict one heck of a great game between two storied and celebrated programs! South Point’s stadium will probably see the largest crowd they’ve ever seen, it’s going be standing room only early
