Remember, defensive PI is 15 yard penalty from the LOS in high school ball, I wouldn't be afraid to grab him early in a route if needed.

Almost like a box & 1 in basketball, I would face guard him at all times, he's most dangerous when he gets squared up with you and uses his lateral quickness/shiftiness. I'll pick my poison and take the chances of him burning me on a go route forcing Schreck into making a good pass as opposed to him getting it on a bubble or quick route.

This is what my co-workers have been hoping for since Week #6. A Wheelersburg vs Ironton rematch. They believe Wheelersburg will dominate the line of scrimmage and just out tough both Ironton's lines (Offenisve & Defensive). I have no dog in this fight so I will just enjoy the battle. But I am surprised people are saying Wheelerburg is a better team minus one players. I guess time will tell.

Here’s what I’ll say, I agree Burg has the better line on both sides (even with injuries), I think Burg is more disciplined & you can expect double digit penalties from Ironton. But I also think Ironton has such an advantage at the skill positions that they can over come all of that.

Burgs path to a win is 1) limit Terrys touches — including in the return game, 2) sustain offensive drives, Burg will need several 5+ minute drives, especially in the first half, 3) Burg will have to play a PERFECT game in all aspects — limit penalties, kick away from Terry, capitalize on mistakes.

Burg won vs a lesser team last week, but things like not getting points before half off a blocked punt & having 10 men on the field for a (blocked) FG absolutely cannot happen

Way easier said than done. All Ironton has to do is give Jet Sweep and terry has a chance to make burg look silly. Burg lacks the athletes to compete with Ironton. Not just Terry. Terry should touch the ball 15 times this game, Probably taking 2 or 3 the distance

And then you have to worry about Edwards, Roach, and Williams. Harvest Prep and Pikeville focused on Terry. It isnt an effective strategy when you cant matchup with the other skill players.

Absolutely easier said than done, totally agree. That’s why Ironton is heavy favorites. But Burg won a similar game a few years ago vs Ironton, this is the path to victory for them. And best believe that everyone in that Wheelersburg locker room not only thinks, but expects to get a W.

Drew Pasteur has Ironton by 31

Cal Preps has Ironton 35-10

I know, that’s why we play the game!!

Short term memory loss for the Burg faithful. You lost 4 regular season games. You didn’t score a TD on HP. Ironton held you to no first downs and 20 yds of offense in 2nd half in first matchup. Wheelersburg was trying to run the football too. They only threw the ball like 12 times. Ironton is way deeper than Wheelersburg as not many guys play both ways. Wheelersburg plays those big lineman on defense against Ironton. With that uptempo offense. Those guys are gonna be gassed. Ironton absolutely shut down Hartley, Harvest Prep, Pikeville and held Clarkson North in check most of the time with their run game. Ironton is thinking about that 2021 play off game as well. You can bet on it Pendleton is telling his guys all about it. If you recall some of these Ironton players were playing as freshman in that game. Ironton is going to beat burg up again Friday night.

Yeah I don’t buy the overall better team outside of Terry. Schreck is an all state QB and they have a really good set of backs and their offensive line is formidable. Burg should have the advantage on the line of scrimmage size wise but Ironton has seen that in pikeville and the Clark team. In both games they still scored plenty of points.

I also don’t agree with the whole spy Terry. That will get burg beat. They will have to shade some one on his side deep. But they just have to play solid defense and hope they can keep him from getting loose.

Burg rotates their players just fine. They won’t be gassed.

And you didn’t shut down pikeville. They out gained you in that game.

Maybe but did you think the same thing the last time they matched up at Portsmouth ? I don’t remember to many people giving the burg a chance in that game either

Ironton committed 5 Turnovers. Had a Backup QB in the game who didn’t complete a pass. And the defense held Wheelersburg to less than 100 yds of offense. If you’re counting on that to happen with this Ironton team. Go ahead

The great thing about all this talk. It will be decided Friday night. May the best team win. Ironton will not be taking Wheelersburg lightly. Especially after the stuff I’ve heard with 2025 schedule and wanting to move the game and all that nonsense . Ironton will show up.

Game is going to Week 6 next year.

Ask an Ironton fan its because they are Non Conference & its easier to fill Week 1 than it is Week 6 (when most conferences start play).

Ask a Burg fan its because Ironton doesn't play by OHSAA rules and starts practice in January when rules regulate not starting til Summer, plus Burg gets more prep time and as always are better Week 6 than they are Week 1.

Irontons schedule was built for these type of games. Ironton has played a much much tougher schedule. All those OVC schools are off the schedule. 2 of the 3 they did play would have finished at least 2nd in SOC. Love that the Burg faithful continue to disrespect Ironton and talk like they are going to just run over top them. We will see Friday.

Yeah no one has said that. Like literally no one. Burg is a 14 seed for crying out loud. 😂

Any Ironton fan that said that doesn't know what they are talking about. Well yes it might be easier to fill week one over week six so that part i guess is true but not entirely. But this game was moved by Burg. Dropped Ironton to try to pick up Portsmouth week one. Told Ironton only other week available was week 6 @ Wheelersburg. Ironton took it. By the way has Wheelersburg filled week one yet. As of now I don't believe they have. Portsmouth found one already though.

Oh good lord. Wheelersburg starts practicing 7 on 7 aka ‘Pirate Ball’ as soon as the snow melts.
