Agree! Burg has had a great run regardless of what happens Friday. Some on this forum predicted a 4-5 win season( really people?) but yet here they are in a regional final again in consecutive seasons and 3 of the last 4! So when does the talk begin on how bad Burg will be next year? Lolscott1297 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 6:57 pm How come ironton posters keep saying that the only way that ironton won't win it all this year is if they don't play a clean game or shoot themselves in the foot ?? That's part of the game either you play good or you don't and usually when you play bad imo it's because the other team is just as good or better. And if a team has alot of penalties that's just young kids making mistakes it happens it's all part of the game!! And turnovers are cause by the other team 99% of the time it's part of the game just like coaching and preparing is part of the game. I am a huge Burg fan and if Burg gets beat friday night I will be rooting for ironton to win it all and show those teams up north that the southern part of the state has good football also !! But Go Burg play hard play smart and leave it all on the field so good luck Pirates and safe travels to all

Nice post !! And Burg will be just fine next year. And I agree with coach Woodward I am just thankful for the opportunity for these Burg kids to have another week to prepare for a very good ironton team it's gonna be a very exciting atmosphere can't wait !!! Just wish it was gonna be better weatherOldtimer55 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 7:22 pmAgree! Burg has had a great run regardless of what happens Friday. Ironton fan here. Kudos to Burg. Ironton is favored but I expect this will be a tougher and closer game. With bad weather I’d kind of expect a low scoring game with some turnovers and as stated above turnovers are usually a product of a good defensive play. I’ve always found it funny when people say we’d have won that game if we hadn’t turned it over four times. Just hope the winner stays healthy because I have a feeling it’ll require all hands on deck to beat the NEO team
Re: Wk 14: (9-4) Wheelersburg vs. (12-1) Ironton
Good luck to both the Pirates and the Tigers in this matchup. Really hope for an injury free game for both teams.

Burg has won the games they were supposed to win and lost to the teams they were supposed to , this game will tell how much better that have gotten. They lost by 30 week 1 , let’s see if they can improve on that.
Re: Wk 14: (9-4) Wheelersburg vs. (12-1) Ironton
The weather doesn’t look horrible for the game, 42 for the kickoff with occasional light rain
Re: Wk 14: (9-4) Wheelersburg vs. (12-1) Ironton
Not a fan of cold rain. Rather it snow. Burg gonna have to figure out how to hold irontons offense to 21 or less. Hasn’t been done yet. Need a break or two or long sustained drives on the offense.

If Burg is depending on weather to help them slow Ironton down, they are not prepared to do so themselves.

I believe South Point will be good hosts for this game. Looks like they have their ducks in a row to pull off a game of this magnitude. I think the press box is a little small. I feel Coal Grove’s new stadium would’ve been bigger to host this game (though it’s literally in Ironton’s backyard). Again, I still think Rock Hill should’ve hosted this game.

Correct me if I’m wrong as I have not been to South Point’s football facility, but it looks like they have the seating capacity for a game of this magnitude; however, the parking and access into and out of the high school looks like the potential issue.OVC wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 4:57 pm I believe South Point will be good hosts for this game. If Burg lets Ironton put up another 35 + they will be kinda like Portsmouth this season. Trojans gave up 94 to Ironton in 2024.
I think burg gives up 80+ to Ironton in 2024.

If ya have a 3rd grade edu or above parking isn't an issue. The venue choice nonsense ad nasuem is stupid. Southeastohio is a cow pasture. You don't even have enough of a population to even experience real traffic. Go practice executing ya round a bouts and SHUT UP!val13 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 6:02 pmCorrect me if I’m wrong as I have not been to South Point’s football facility, but it looks like they have the seating capacity for a game of this magnitude; however, the parking and access into and out of the high school looks like the potential issue.OVC wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 4:57 pm I believe South Point will be good hosts for this game. Too much venue talk. Not enough football. There is no traffic anywhere in seo. There’s only one way in, and one way out. That’s the major issue I can think of.val13 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 6:02 pmCorrect me if I’m wrong as I have not been to South Point’s football facility, but it looks like they have the seating capacity for a game of this magnitude; however, the parking and access into and out of the high school looks like the potential issue.OVC wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 4:57 pm I believe South Point will be good hosts for this game. Smile and wave. 2-15. Lol. Burg will have their hands full but always show up and play hard. Rematches are strange things. Sometimes one team takes another lightly and gets busted in the mouth. Hope it doesn't happen and is a good game but I'll keep rooting for the Pirates to come out with a victory.

Believe me, these Seniors remember what happened when they were Freshmen. They’re not taking the Pirates lightly. The Nature Boy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 7:54 pm Smile and wave. 2-15. Lol.
