Watched the video of the scrimmage Whs95fan ... Warren looked much better than the Cambridge outing ... still looking for that consistent inside scorer ... right now Stadelman, Sealey are the most consistent scorers, Lupardus gets his garbage buckets inside but the offense doesn't have any inside game - yet ... Barry could be the 3rd scorer but again he isn't consistent - yet ... Cressey is looking to be the other starter - does all of the hussle plays, crashes the boards - doesn't look to score ... I'd like to see scoring from the wing, or a midrange scorer - that guy who if you leave him open on the wing or at the elbow will burn you - Elzey could be that guy / Cochran took perimeter shots as well ... Criss is looking better and better - handles the ball well/sees the open man and delivers the ball without hesitating ... Warren played a starting 5 as listed (Stadelman/Sealey/Lupardus/Cressey/Barry) - scores for the starters :

Warren 15-11
Warren 18-5
Warren 17-13
Warren 12-8 ... 1st string for 4 minutes/2nd group the last 6 mins

... a 2nd group of 5 plus a sub ... Criss/Anthony/Wells/Elzey/Cochran sub (Tullius)

Warren 11-10
LE 11-9
Warren 17-3

... defense looks as good as ever ... the football guys are getting into hoops shape ...

Thanks for the synopsis Pfloyd, I think the lack of inside game early on is not surprising but hopefully Lupardus can be that guy down low.

... I don't think I have ever seen Lupardus or Wells take a shot in 3 years that was "out on the floor" ... I think the Warriors will be fine, it will be a different look without 6-7 offensive threat/15+ppg & 10+ rpg in the lineup ... Cressey will help makeup in the rebounding, and I think he can get 6-8 ppg as well ... Barry has to be more offensive minded/consistency ... Julian Stadelman - he's as good as they come - he will get his and more - inside/outside/transition ... as I posted I'm looking at Elzey/Cressey/Cross/Anthony to step up on the perimeter ... Sealey is looking to score on the perimeter - he's not hesitating - he will get 15+ ppg ... some early tests for the Warriors - @ Gallia Academy, @ Marietta, vs Chillicothe in the opening week ... I'll be at GAHS for the road opener ...

A good scrimmage this evening at Portsmouth Notre Dame with Notre Dame/Eastern Pike/Chesapeake going at it ... I believe the start time is 6p ... Logan travels to Sheridan for a Foundation game/scrimmage - girls game at 6p and the boys varsity to follow ...

... full report LOL !!! ND had a couple of players transfer to Portsmouth HS - will be interested in knowing how that affects ND ... Eastern Pike should be much improved from last season but I imagine they are missing players due to the Eagles post season football run ... and of course your Panthers peake71 - should be getting closer to season ready! How's the PG position looking post Dannie Maynard? Who's at PG now - Ethan Kerns? ... let us know how this scrimmage goes peake71 ...

The Peake at Notre Dame scrimmage.
The jv's played 4 , 10 min quarters with The Peake winning 3 of 4 . Peake played all the jv plus their freshman. We have some jv that will be playing up, who will push the varsity. 6'5" freshman Andy Chapman will be a force as he gains more experience. Lefty with a wide body.
Varsity played 6 quarters with Peake winning 5.
They were close quarters as both squads played hard. It was a physical night and except for one it was both sides then one ref seemed to take it upon himself to be one sided.
Could say more but I won't. Overall I think it was a good scrimmage for both teams.
ND is well coached and they have some good players. Rebound well and can light it up from 3.
Pfloyd as far as running the point it will be either Kayden (KK) Phillips or Maddox Kezee.
Drew Plantz can fill in but we have several who are good ball handlers. You need these type of scrimmages to get ready.
The Peake was missing one varsity player who is nursing an injury but should be ready to go.
The next scrimmage is next Tuesday at Portsmouth West.

Thanks peake71 for the rundown ... Maddox Kazee can do it all , not surprised he could run the point ... more names to put stars beside - Drew Plantz, Andy Chapman, Kayden Phillips ... Coach Ater has "depth" - not just fill in , maintain depth but depth that can extend leads, catchup, continue the physical D, size off the bench - depth ... good stuff peake71 ...

... I love it, I always like to see the best teams in the Southeast District get out of the district to push themselves, play against teams that have the talent, speed, size to challenge TEAM ... scrimmages should be used to not only prepare your team for the regular season but also to give you film on your weaknesses as a team, weaknesses within your individual players - areas that need to be worked on so you are prepared for the regular season and post season ... Coach Davis KNOWS that he has an outstanding group of talented players - that a run in the post season IS in the books ... Meigs with 6-8 Carson Davis, surrounded by 6-5 Brinager/6-5 Vance/6-6 Tobin ... 6-4 Gheen , 6-2 Dewees to anchor the perimeter game ... this team can play at each of the levels - 3 point game, inside the paint, defense ... good depth off the bench ... hopefully someone will be able to give us a rundown as to how Meigs fares outside of Southern Ohio this weekend ...

... THIS is a great scrimmage itsme !!! I hope we can get some video on this one ... Fairland has improved each scrimmage, getting comfortable with roles ... I haven't seen Meigs, haven't heard anything as to how they look BUT I know players were working out basketball wise throughout football season/attending some showcases Above the Lancaster-Dixon Line ... THIS matchup should be outstanding for BOTH squads ... Coach Davis (Meigs) & Coach Speed (Fairland) are more than familiar with each other as Coach Davis was the longtime mentor for Chesapeake before taking the Bloom Carroll head coaching position 2 years ago ...

Total:
Meigs: 104
Fairland: 90

Total from 6 10 minute quarters.

Fairland shot the 3 ball extremely well, seemed like any contested 3 point shot with tight defense was falling for them.

Meigs just looked dominant in any play they ran like nothing could stop them from scoring, only thing that stop them were their own minor mental mistakes that were fixed by the end of the night.

Live stream is on meigs hudl i believe

If Jarrell is out for any of the regular season, the Pioneers will struggle to score. They struggled to score without him last year, so it’s not a big surprise there.

Hopefully he’ll be back sooner rather than later.
