I don’t know much about west liberty but Ironton opened with a 39 point spread. I seen on social media that the game is at Chillicothe.

Yes, per the OHSAA website, the state semifinal sites are already confirmed. Chillicothe it is.

They have a pretty good QB who can run. (Burgs QB had a lot of success running) Their running back is strong and doesn’t go down easy. #2 a WR is their main threat. They "USE" him like Terry. Not saying the kid is as good as Terry. If I was rating their offense to Irontons Id give them 3.5 stars to Irontons 5. Irontons Defense and Line play will be the deference maker. I can see another running clock if Ironton doesn't fall back into bad habits. And still a win if they do.

Strength of Schedule might play a huge difference in this one as Ironton’s SOS is #2 in DV and West Liberty Salem’s is #70 in DV.
It’s always an accomplishment to win a Regional.
This will be Ironton’s 14 Appearance in the State Semfinals.
It looks as though this is West Liberty Salem’s 1st appearance.
Ironton is averaging 52 points per game in the playoffs while giving up an average of 6.75 points per game.
West Liberty Salem is averaging 42.45 points per game in the playoffs while giving up an average of 27.5 points per game.
Ironton is 67-37 all time in the playoffs with 40 appearances.
West Liberty Salem is 17-15 all time in the playoffs.
To put those appearances in perspective, all of the SOC2 has 100 and the OVC has 81.

If Ironton plays like they did against Burg i don't see them losing IMO that was Irontons best game of the year so far and i have seen them play all season so hopefully is clicking at the right time this year instead of years past when they would make it to the final game in Canton and lay an egg so good luck Ironton bring back that trophy to southern Oh
Burg grad 85

Ironton played a pretty clean game last night. Had one touchdown called back by a penalty which can't happen next week. Take care of business and go to Canton on Dec 7 .

I know nothing about that other team. However, I’ve said this several times before and I’m gonna say it again. This Ironton team, it was the most well prepared team I’ve ever seen the Tigers put on the field. The boys knew/know their job, they execute almost flawlessly and they genuinely seem to like each other. Their cohesion is at a level in high school ball you’ll seldom ever see. They are the very definition of a team. The coaching staff has trained these kids so good at all positions. Kudos!
I have the watched the Tigers many years go into the playoffs and go deep. I’ve said you really never know what you’re up against until you get there. I am kind of concerned though when I see the Tigers win the regional final with a score of 55 to naught. I can’t but help ask myself was the region 19 weak or are we really that good? After thinking about it though, I think Ironton is that good.
I looked down on the field last night right before the end of the game and there sitting on A TABLE together was Shawn Terry & Josh Johnson, talking, grinning and enjoying the moment. I fumbled to try to get my phone out of my pocket to snap a photograph of but they got back up before I got the chance. It would’ve been a great picture.

They played good last night but again , Burg just isn’t that strong this year . Very weak region. Thankfully we scheduled up outside the area this year.scott1297 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 10:36 am If Ironton plays like they did against Burg i don't see them losing IMO that was Irontons best game of the year so far and i have seen them play all season so hopefully is clicking at the right time this year instead of years past when they would make it to the final game in Canton and lay an egg so good luck Ironton bring back that trophy to southern Oh

I looked at West Liberty's schedule on Joe Eitel and I would be very surprised if they beat Ironton. Ironton is clicking on all cylinders. Canton or bust for the Tigers.

Not to change the subject, just watched Marion Local.Tigers would win that game.
Re: Week 15 : #2 (13-1) West Liberty Salem vs #1 (13-1) Ironton
Things looking much different for Ironton in this years playoffs. Past years either Pendleton they seemed to peak week 2 and level off and just get by in the playoffs until they got knocked out. This years team seems to be improving with each week of the playoffs. Let’s go with Ironton by 35. It’s state title or bust this year for the Tigers
Re: Week 15 : #2 (13-1) West Liberty Salem vs #1 (13-1) Ironton
So the standard is a D7 school?? Marion Local would approach that game like nothing you’ve seen on tape. Not only have their players been there done that so has the coaching staff. Kirtland a team Ironton was unable to beat 2 different times and running clock 2nd time around, Marion local beat for the title in 2022 a year they were the small DVI school. So let’s not open up that can of worms that could never be answered.artisgilmore wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 3:58 pm Not to change the subject, just watched Marion Local.Tigers would win that game.

Jamestown Greenview beat this team 42-14 the third week of the season. Then West Liberty beat the team that knocked Greenview out of the playoffs, go figure! Ironton is miles better than either one of those teams, IMO. I'd be shocked if this game wasn't running clock.

As much as I love the fighting tigers I think ml would handle them no problem at all. Ml is in another universe.greygoose wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 4:03 pmSo the standard is a D7 school?? With the current staff,Ironton would win the MAC most years. They don’t play anyone but themselves.MAC,play someone with more than 30 players on their team.Play teams with the same energy that you do.
