Let's be honest here

Post by Steely Dan »

So, we are at a point where SE Ohio may very well have a football championship to claim. It kind of feels like the winner of Canfield S.Range and Liberty Center are going to be the sacrificial lambs for the Tigers. Feels the same for DVII and Marion Local. Maybe the only competitive final maybe in DVI with Coldwater and Kirtland going head to head, and I am not sure how this contest will go. Good luck to the Tigers in the final!

Ironton has been laser focused all year. The kids have put in the time off season and cleaned up the mistakes of yesteryear. Im very happy for the young men playing the game

Agree 100%. I hope that the Tigers bring home the hardware next week!

"Let's be honest here" LC is not going to be a sacrificial lamb by any means. They have arguably the best defense in D5. Ironton is a very very close second.

You’re misremembering the previous alignment of the season to the calendar. There were state finals under the previous 8 teams per region (e.g. 2013) and 4 teams per region (1998) models played in December.

What changed as a result of the additional round was the season having weeks 1 and 2 in August.

With the OHSAA it’s always about greed and $$$. They are desperate to get back to the lavish vacations disguised as “meetings” in places like Hawaii.
