In this state, school board members cannot be recalled.

The law for removal via recall in the Ohio Revised Code doesn’t extend to school board members. It sucks for sure.

Lehman ran unopposed last year which is even worse imo and really validates your point. This situation is not something that arose over night.

Charter school - When the guy who owns virtually all the available commercial property in town also is allegedly wrecking the schools, you have a major conflict of interest.

He ran 8 times before and lost— this time he "won" on a write-in campaign for a seat that opened up late in the process in an odd-year election. In the end, there were two open seats and two candidates. The other candidate got 5,157 votes, Lehman got 255 votes.

Lehman does not care about education or the kids. He is in it for himself period, you are kidding yourself if you think different.

I am sure his appearance on the board is to his benefit

If the gentleman who is speaking is correct in his allegations against the one board member who is accused of creating a toxic atmosphere, I don't see much that can be done other than the other board members seeking an outside, independent investigation into board member misconduct. If no misconduct is found than all that can be done is for the school community to try and survive the storm until his seat is up for re-election IMHO.

A majority of the board should be able to overcome the actions of a minority board vote.

There's an argument to be made that speaking from the Board to lodge personal attacks against members of the audience would, in fact, constitute a violation of the OSBA Code of Ethics. The part where you're not supposed to use your capacity as a Board member for personal purposes.

Why he thought it was a wise idea to do that, who knows.

Yep — the old Kardex building now headquarters most of his businesses… just outside of city limits so he’s not paying taxes to the city/school system (I assume)

Owns several properties within the Marietta area. Some are outside the city limits but the vast majority are within Marietta city.

Yeah I would like to know specifics as well. Is it a rich man throwing his weight around to fuel his ego or is he truly trying to improve accountability which rubs people the wrong way ? I have known former Marietta board members that have claimed that school board has been a toxic environment for awhile. It's good to educate yourself from both perspectives to form an opinion one way or the other.

I know several folks dont really want all the dirty laundry aired out. It started a few years back with a boys basketball coach. Old favors called in and friends were taking notes. Board and school been in disarray since.

Can anyone tell me what Lehman has done other than get rid of people? What is his plan to improve the situation? I honestly not heard a plan. Does he or the board have any answers or plans other than running off people?
