Congrats to ironton from Portsmouth. Terry was special but looking at the roster I think they will be fine for awhile. I seen on the ironton facebook the kids are back in the weight room. That’s what it takes, the extra work.

Week 1? You are late to the party.Larry Fine wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 7:55 amTerry is the best football to come out of our area in the last 20 years , maybe longer. Not sure why this is so hard for you to understand. Either A) you never played football or any other competitive sport resulting in you not getting this, and/or B) you are truly the product of a 2.5 star education lacking the ability to think.
Going out on a limb here, but I assume you were neither an athlete or scholar. Definitely worthy of the username that you have chosen.
Burg has already given Pendleton the choice: game is played week 6 at Burg, or Ironton needs to find another game.
As I said, IHS desperately needs the Burg game because they are in a difficult situation trying to fill a schedule. Plus Burg is a big gate they can’t afford to lose.
So maybe see you in week 6.

Re: IRONTON FIGHTING TIGERS! 2024 DIVISION 5 STATE CHAMPIONS!
Congratulations to the Ironton Fighting Tigers on their State Championship. After so many close calls the past few years, that 3rd state title is now reality. 40 times in the playoffs, tied with Cincinnati Moeller for the most ever in Ohio.
Shaun Terry has to considered one of the greatest players in the storied history of Ironton HS football. He was spectacular against Liberty Center.

Ironton can’t afford to drop Burg. Ironton has no leverage and is desperate for games; especially big money making games. Pendleton is lucky that Burg hasn’t dropped Ironton at this point. That would be a big financial hit to Ironton while also contributing to their scheduling woes.Larry Fine wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 11:14 amThen we need to drop your scared butts. Too bad Ironton alienated Ashland. That game would be great to have at this moment. Ironton better hope Gallia and Fairland don’t make changes. Lose those two and Burg, Ironton will be hurting.

Just quit worrying about Ironton so much and worry about burg.
If the playoffs didn’t expand this year burg wouldn’t have even made and be destroyed by Ironton in the playoffs

Man, Why even come on here? You are hurting and it shows. You were strongly rooting against Ironton, your worst nightmare happened and we won. You should have taken a few months off of the website. You are REACHING so deep to find something negative against Ironton that you are worried about their economic status.RBH23 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 11:28 amIronton can’t afford to drop Burg. I can promise you this, the Tank rocks with or without wheelersburg. We are doing just fine over here.

“ IHS coaches could have game planned until the end of time, but there’s no making up for what Terry contributes.”
From that, one of the Ironton clowns lost his mind. LOL!!
As for the financial situation, you should let Pendleton know that. He’s desperate to keep Burg on the schedule for the gate.

As long as both teams get the same number of home games during the contract, who hosts first is irrelevant. Last year ended the old contract, next year starts the new one. Also, let’s not act like Wheelersburg filling the SOC bye week with the same team every year and opening Week 1 for another game is a bad thing for them. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship in many ways.
Rumor I heard was Wheelersburg is paying Ironton some cash to flip the hosting dates. Public schools so that info should be out there somewhere.

There’s simply no game plan that’s going to make up for the loss of a talent like Terry. He’s a special player.
Not sure why this is so hard for you to understand. Either A) you never played football or any other competitive sport resulting in you not getting this, and/or B) you are truly the product of a 2.5 star education lacking the ability to think.

Re: IRONTON FIGHTING TIGERS! 2024 DIVISION 5 STATE CHAMPIONS!
LOL!! Of course winning the state is an amazing accomplishment. My discussion on this thread started with IHS fans downplaying Terry’s impact. According to them, Terry’s 300 all purpose yards, 10 receptions, 3 TDs, and one int can simply be covered if Terry didn’t play. Just need a few tweaks to the game plan. LOL!!TigerBob wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 12:32 pmYou don’t understand! Winning the state championship is a bad thing! Think of the 2030 schedule implications! No doubt Burg benefits from it, but IHS has a bigger scheduling issue. They have four open spots in next year’s schedule. Have been turned down by the MAC schools and Ignatius. Burg already has week 1 replaced and has a replacement for week 6 if need be.
Ironton’s physical location and alienation of local teams will make scheduling quite the challenge. HP struggles with this despite being in Columbus. Will be far worse for IHS.
