Top 5 SEO Football Programs Moving Forward
Based on where they currently stand and looking to the future, which programs have the brightest futures?
I’ll go…
1. Ironton
2. Jackson
3. Fairland
4. Wheelersburg
5. Portsmouth

Re: Top 5 SEO Football Programs Moving Forward
Only two teams on this list made a regional final. Curious to your logic there?

Re: Top 5 SEO Football Programs Moving Forward
Logic is trolling.
If you are talking likelihood to win a regional final or more, there are only two SEO schools that should be on the list.

Re: Top 5 SEO Football Programs Moving Forward
Burg was broken by hp and The Ironton Fighting Tigers. Their program is middle of the pack in seo at best at this point.
Re: Top 5 SEO Football Programs Moving Forward
Portsmouth West should be over Portsmouth. They have won a conference championship recently. As Portsmouth has not
Re: Top 5 SEO Football Programs Moving Forward
Okay. I’ll ask you a second time. What is your logic moving forward with a team who made a regional final?

Burg has only made it beyond their region 4 times in over 3 DECADES.
Burg is a middle of the pack mediocre program like Fairland.

Re: Top 5 SEO Football Programs Moving Forward
Ironton, Burg, and Jackson are the top three.
I’d put Fort Frye and West as the other two in the top 5

Re: Top 5 SEO Football Programs Moving Forward
Fairland didnt give up 92 point combined to a regional opponent. Giving up 92 means you are not a competitive program anymore. Softburg matches up better with the oak hills and portsmouth Notre Dames. Ironton and Prep are way too much for softburg.

Re: Top 5 SEO Football Programs Moving Forward
Burgs football program isnt top 3 in anything unless its a poll for who has the most soft, fluffy, slow, unathletic quiz bowl contestants that flop around on the turf writhing in pain and agony after every play vs Ironton or Harvest Prep.
Re: Top 5 SEO Football Programs Moving Forward
Again guys post these types of questions but don't define things, what are you considering brightest futures?? Is that a team that wins their conference and wins a 1st round playoff game or brightest futures considered to be teams that are going to make a regional championship push?? Because we can slim that list down a ton if that's the case. What is the criteria being set forth for "brightest futures"?Carmen Ohio wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 5:07 pm Based on where they currently stand and looking to the future, which programs have the brightest futures?
I’ll go…
1. Ironton
2. Jackson
3. Fairland
4. Wheelersburg
5. Portsmouth
1) Ironton--just won state and losing a ton of talent plus ultimately the guy that carried them to the win. How bright is the future no idea but they should compete for the region.
2) Wheelersburg--no matter what anyone says they keep finding themselves in a the thick of things come playoff time and vying for the region as well.
3) Eastern Pike--20 plus regular season winning streak and played for the regional championship this year only losing a handful of seniors
4) Unioto--Unioto just keeps building each year and reloading each year, they have been unable to get over that hump in the playoffs but I'd put them over Fairland.
5) Jackson--They just have a program built for success around here, problem with Jackson is they're in a juggernaut of a region and they're not showing that deep playoff push you want to see.
Again these rankings could be totally changed up based on what criteria one is actually establishing when you say "brightest futures". I wanted to put teams like Piketon, Portsmouth, maybe even Fairland on there but I don't see any of them pushing for a region year in and year out. Let's not forget Chillicothe has quite a bit of talent coming up and a new coach, could we see them on this list next year?? Very well could but until I see what the new coach does I'm holding off on that simply because the last 2 coaches for Chillicothe were considered "the guy".

Top 5
1 Ironton loses some talent but is loaded for near the next 3 years.
2 Athens schedule is weaker than most considering their school size but they have talent.
3 Nelsonville York contends for their conference every year and future looks bright for them.
4 Wheeletsburg a tough out in the playoffs plays hard not as talented as most but makes use of what they do have.
5 you could put Higher than 4 or 3 Jackson solid team every year comes to play just in a tough region and division.
I know you could flip 2-5 easily right now Ironton looks to be the best of SE Ohio to me for the next few years.
