Haven’t been but might try to catch the scrimmage at home on Friday. Everything I’ve heard has been pretty positive. Numbers looking like around 40 or so.Bucknuts88 wrote: Tue Aug 06, 2024 9:45 am Has anyone been out to see the first week of 2-a-days? Interested to see how many kids are out this year. I can't remember a season where expectations have been this high for a good while. Can't wait to see the pigskin fly.

Re: Warren Football 2024
Scrimmage went alright for the first scrimmage with Fairfield Union tonight. Went 10 plays no down and distance both ways. FU scored once in that session on a long play. In down and distance, Warren went 70-80 yards in 7-8 plays, only throwing it once. The down and distance session was much better than the ten straight plays. Carr and Fairbanks both looked really good, along with the linebackers. Fairbanks looked more explosive than last season and Carr showed an ability to run through contact better than last season. Not a bad showing for the first scrimmage, but definitely some things to work on.

Frye started. In down/distance, the LOS was 4-5 yards down the field.Bucknuts88 wrote: Fri Aug 09, 2024 11:06 pm Who started at Center, and was the OLine opening up holes?

Played okay, not great. Pepper was explosive. Took a screen 70 and outran everyone to the end zone.

24-18 Warren. Didn’t show much on offense. Saving it for next week. Need to make some passing defense adjustments but I’m sure they will this week.

Have to give a shoutout to senior linebacker Owen Thompson. Finished his senior year as the DIII Southeast District DPOY and the TSL DPOY. Had an outstanding senior season from start to finish, and was usually at his best in big games, as shown by racking up 18 tackles in a huge league game with Fort Frye in Week 9. Well earned and well deserved.
Also have to shoutout Tanner Pepper, who is now a 3-time first team all district player at WR in his first three seasons. Hoping he can break on to an All Ohio team before he’s done.

CONGRATS MR THOMPSON that's an amazing accomplishment.beg003 wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 2:27 pm Have to give a shoutout to senior linebacker Owen Thompson. Pepper is a tremendous athlete should be an exciting SR year for him.

On the All-Ohio side, Owen Thompson earned a spot on the D3 First Team at LB. He’s the first 1st Team All Ohioan for the football program in quite a few years. He put together an impressive resume as a senior: TSL DPOY, District DPOY, and 1st Team All-Ohio.
Owen Bookman, Tanner Pepper, and Aden Strahler were all honorable mention All-Ohio. If Pepper could get to the elusive 1,000 yard receiving mark, I’d think he has a good shot at being on an All-Ohio team as a senior. I’d look for Eric Carr to have a good chance too, on either side of the ball.

Bookman has to be the best lineman in Warren history to get this award in only 6 games.beg003 wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:45 am On the All-Ohio side, Owen Thompson earned a spot on the D3 First Team at LB. He’s certainly in the conversation I’d imagine. I’d probably have him at #1. I think he makes a team if he played all their regular season games.UncleRico05 wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 12:02 pmBookman has to be the best lineman in Warren history to get this award in only 6 games.beg003 wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:45 am On the All-Ohio side, Owen Thompson earned a spot on the D3 First Team at LB. Word from a reliable source is that Jimmy Peyton is leaving Warren and going to Logan.

Re: Warren Football 2024
Unfortunate for what? Warren should be fortunate he’s leaving. Ran off a lot of good people and players in his 3 years. Maybe some of the talent he held back and discouraged from playing will now get opportunities to play. Maybe Pepper won’t have to play TE and Carr might get more than 3-4 carries a game.
