2 great matchups! Hoping Mother Nature cooperates! Meigs vs Marietta is going to tell us a bunch about both of these teams - more so Meigs than Marietta imo …

The Meigs-Marietta game could be a classic, but respectfully I think Meigs has the advantage -- home court, size, shooters. Nothing against the Tigers and I understand that 9 years in a row of more than 10 losses until the 2022-23 season has been a miraculous turnaround. Tigers have played really good defense but are streaky shooters and may have a problem on the boards as well against the Marauders. All signs point to a deep Meigs run this year.

I hear the white stuff is supposed to stop early Friday morning. Hopefully it doesn't get too bad overnight tonight. Schools are out until Monday anyways right?

I totally agree that Meigs has the advantage - talent, talent & size at every position, 7 deep with size/length/talent ... AND that Meigs can make a deep run in the post season - a deep run IF they can continue to develop the ability to handle "on ball pressure" ... this will be a step in proving to me and themselves that they CAN handle pressure ... imo Meigs has all of the attributes needed to be a championship team - size, shooting, inside presence, bigs that can get to the rim or shoot the perimeter ball ... all of these physically talented players for Meigs are "learning" how to play the game, applying their talents to learning to play their positions/the game as a TEAM ... I also feel that every time out vs quality teams (Marietta etc.) is a test - where understanding the game/applying what they've been taught is what is needed to pass the test - getting the W and taking them where they want to be as a TEAM ... Coach Gardner/Coach Warner are going to "try" to force Meigs to be as "uncomfortable" as possible - force players to make decisions they aren't used to making / pressure Owen Tracy - make him give up the ball ... force bigs further out on the floor so they have to put the ball on the floor "further" away from the basket ... force bigs to play offense from spots on the floor where they aren't comfortable - if they can get bigs putting the ball on the floor then the Marietta "quickness" becomes a factor in their favor ... it's going to be a GREAT game - I want to see the strategies play out ... top 3 ranked teams, outstanding coaches - how can it NOT be a great game ...

People sleep on just have fast meigs is even for their size as well, consistently beating their opponents to spots and up and down the court effortlessly, brinager glides around the court

I haven’t seen anyone sleep on any aspect of Meigs game. No shortcomings. Most have them as one of the top 2 or 3 teams of any division in SE Ohio.

Some people have to act like they are overlooked or an underdog no matter what. The only issue I see with Meigs is the schedule, but even that still has 2 quality opponents left (Marietta, Warren)

Not playing close games is very fun as a fan, but when you don’t really have to figure out new ways to win, that gets hard when things get tight in the postseason (likely not until the Regionals for them though)

... no argument from me - I do have them as my #1 in the rankings ... I watched them play a Fairfield Union team that is no where near as good, no where close to the athletic ability, no where near the size , shooters of Meigs ... FU should have won that game - lost by 4 pts ... IF Meigs has the attitude of "we're good, we can beat everyone on our schedule, we can do it on our talent/size/shooting ability" ... the run that's expected into the post season "isn't" going to happen ... imo in order for the best teams to be THE BEST TEAMS 1) they have to be willing to be "fundamentally sound" not just rely on athletic ability 2) must have the "improving means never being satisfied attitude" 3) must be willing to "learn the game" , accept/listen to coaching/teaching of the nuances of the game/positions AND "apply the teaching/what has been learned" ... when I saw Meigs vs FU and Gallia Academy I SAW all of the talent/athletic ability, I SAW the scoring potential, the size that separates the Marauders from every team in the SE District ... what I also saw was a team that needed to learn how to play the game, do the things that would make them THE TEAM we all think they can be ... when I see them vs Marietta I hope to see the little things that show me that they are "learning how to play the game" , they are "apply what they are being taught" ... Marietta because of the coaching, the preparation and their own talent will be a good barometer game/test to show me how much the Marauders have improved in "learning" to play the game ... not a negative on my part at all - I see a Meigs TEAM who HAS the potential to be a force vs the best teams in the East district/Central district in Ohio ... the makeup of this Meigs team (size across the board, talent, athletic ability, perimeter scoring, inside scoring - scoring at all of the levels , etc.) doesn't happen often for us in the SE District ... I saw Meigs play in the Logan Summer Super Shootout , I talked to Coach Davis and his son 6-8 Carson in the parking lot before the games started ... I saw the size, the athletic ability, depth off the bench ... on that day in June, at that shootout ,my take away from the day of games - Meigs was the team to beat in SE Ohio no matter the division , my #1 ...
