Scrimmage day. With Fort Fryes first game being next Tuesday, this will give the coaches a last look at what needs worked on before the regular season starts. They are without their starting, loan senior, so the underclassmen are definitely going to have to step up.

Who do they scrimmage? Have they had other scrimmages already?

Fort Frye takes the loss vs Marietta but I think that was expected. The Cadets kept it close but the paper makes it sound as though it was because of Marietta foul trouble. From what I know about Fort Frye, they just compete in each game. Sounds like four players from last year's Freshman class start this year so if some of the better players are not playing then that must have been a talented group. Although I don't know a lot about the East District's new alignment, I think Fort Frye will come out of the East and with a down year this year in the SE, it could be them, Portsmouth West, Eastern (Winchester) and the Lancers in the Regional.

Here's the east district teams. I believe fort Frye, Monroe Central, and Bellaire are the top 3? Not sure about some, don't know who they lost or who they gain.

Bellaire
Buckeye trail
Crooksville
Fort Frye
Garaway
Monroe central
Newcomerstown
Ridgewood
Shadyside
Shenandoah

I was going to argue against Eastern Brown…but, they really might win a district. That’s how weak the SE is in D6, probably an easy win for Fed Hock and West and then a rock fight for that third slot.

Marietta jumped on fort early. And got up double digits in the 1st quarter. Both teams struggle with foul trouble, as fort had a player sit most of the 2nd quarter with 2 fouls. Marietta had one or 2 girls sit the 3rd with 3 fouls. Fort was able to get it down to 8 or 9 a couple of times but could never get it any closer as Marietta always had an answer, usually a timely 3. The Huffman girl struggled to find her shot in this game. Getting more offense from her will be key for them this year.

Fort Frye coming off a good win vs the Sheridan Generals last Sunday @ the battle of the 614. Tonight they will head to union local to play the Jets. Should be a really good game.

Completely my mistake. The SE only gets two teams out to go with the East and then one of the two Central champs. That could end up being Harvest Prep. The Lancers play Harvest Prep later this year. They looked pretty good against Fairland at Marietta so that would be a tough matchup for any of these teams.

Fort frye defeats linsly. Final score does not indicate just how good fort played. They were up by as many as 18 in the third and fourth and put JV in halfway through the 4th. Good win for the cadets. Next week they will play Shenandoah and belpre. Both should be good matchups.

That Fort/Belpre game should be a good one.

Fort Frye had a nice win against Shenandoah last night. Tomorrow they will face Belpre in the Clash at the Coliseum. Should be a good game. Both teams have a couple really, really good players and both have nice supporting casts. Only time they will see each other this year. Prediction, Fort 58 Belpre 54.

I would love to watch this game and may be able to on the livestream. I have underestimated Belpre all year and they have some athletic and physical players. I like FF out of the east and i think Belpre has a shot to get out of the southeast so this could be a rematch down the road. I like what Belpre is doing right now and I don't know a lot about Fort Frye. But what I do know is that they have always been disciplined and I think that will hurt Belpre. I am with you SportsGuy but I think the margin may be 10 or so. I also think the score will be lower since FF might try to slow them down. Once again, good luck for an injury free and competitive game.

Fort Frye has some shooters this year. Not just 1 girl. They do lack depth, as they only play 5, maybe 6 girls unless someone gets in foul trouble. Both teams are headed In the right direction that's for sure. Good luck ladies!

The Lady Cadets will play Monroe Central today at Marietta College in the River City Classic. Should be a good game. Both teams have played a tough schedule to date. I give the edge to FF 48-39

Fort Frye gets the W vs Shenandoah tonight. Senior Emmie Duskey scored her 1000 point. Fort will travel to New Lex Thursday. Cadets are now 9-1 on season.
