Webster will return McClintic, Stephens and Barnard next season, pick up Easton large from 8th grade, and have younger Barnard to boot. If Burton plays next season he’ll be in there too. Also the upside of the Bennett boy is sky high if he can dial his game in. I’ve been very impressed with him. I’m not sure if Kreischer from 8th grade has the size to play any varsity but he’ll be one to keep an eye on as well. The jeeps aren’t going anywhereWaverlyguru01 wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:10 pmI'll say againdanicalifornia wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:07 pm Vs SW/Minford, Burg loses by a combined 81 points on the road and the best 3 players between those teams didn’t play a second in the final quarter
Utter domination.
Wow
Just wow.
Has the burg dominance passed and gone? I don't see them winning SOC for several years to come not even close actually. It should run thru Waverly starting next season.

Now that we can pay players Via NIL, Wheelersburg has lost its advantage on the league…

This is the first time I can recall sweeping burg in a season. The programs in shambles by that metric

That group not beating waverly if they stay healthy. I would take the junior class at South Webster over Waverly right now, and again next year when they're seniors. Those 3 are all capable of blowing a game open and dropping 20 points on any given night. They know their roll and let the big dogs eat for now. Stephens was him at the beginning of the season. He filled the scoring gap that was missed while Eli was out. Then he had an injury and Eli came back. Now he gives solid minutes off the bench. Barnard gets his whenever he wants it/when we need it. If you think you can beat Webster by keeping the ball away from the seniors then Barnard will beat you every time. He can drive it in or step out and hit the 3. I don't remember him ever taking a bad shot. And I fully believe Mcclintic is the best point guard off the bench in the area. When our stars are out, he runs the show.Waverlyguru01 wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 11:15 pmThat group not beating waverly if they stay healthy. And I hate to say this, but I have to disagree with you saying burg is out for several years. If you're making predictions like that for the future, you might wanna look at the Jr high teams. Waverly doesn't have a team worth putting in the gym. And the burg has been making the best teams look like they haven't played in a year
Re: 1/24/25 burg @ SW (11-0) (homecoming)
LOL, Waverly doesn’t have a single Junior on the team so I guess the SW Junior class would be better than Waverlys.Eugene_2010 wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 9:07 amI would take the junior class at South Webster over Waverly right now, and again next year when they're seniors. Waverly starts a freshman and 4 sophomores with the first sub off the bench being a senior for defensive purposes only. Next sub is another sophomore.
Bash the young Tigers all you want but they have won 7 games and lost some close ones.

Since we’re talking about future teams:
2026: Burg/Webster/West/Waverly/Valley/Minford
2027: Waverly/Valley/Burg/Webster/Minford/West

2030: Valley/Webster/Minford/Burg/West/Waverly

Burgs current jr class is a good example of not being able to predict high school success based on jr high successs. I’m also not sure that 55-0 beat down ironton put on them didn’t take every bit of the fight out of themart_vandelay wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 12:25 pm Since we’re talking about future teams:

Re: 1/24/25 burg @ SW (11-0) (homecoming)
I think it'll be interesting to see, SW has already played a bunch of games with Roberts so losing him really isn't that big of a deal in terms of scheme and team continuity. Waverly's best shot at SOC is going to be next year, they'll be solid after. Valley looks to be playing well but I have no idea how many seniors they haveWaverlyguru01 wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 11:15 pmThat group not beating waverly if they stay healthy. Very true this is a group that many when they were in 7th/8th grade were saying could possibly be the best class to ever come through Burg. I doubt anyone predicted they would've hit their peak in junior high.fbnut wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 1:54 pmBurgs current jr class is a good example of not being able to predict high school success based on jr high successs. Re: 1/24/25 burg @ SW (11-0) (homecoming)
I think after this group from Minford graduates we can probably look and say that the SOC is up for grabs there's not 1 team that is going to as stacked as Minford has been last 3 years now. Waverly is very young and they're going to be extremely tough for any SOC team but I wouldn't go as far as to say the league will run through them, I think you'll see more balance within the league after this season. The Ghost of Swanker wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 11:31 amYour buddy said the SOc3 runs through Waverly next year.smurray wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 9:19 amLOL, Waverly doesn’t have a single Junior on the team so I guess the SW Junior class would be better than Waverlys.Eugene_2010 wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 9:07 am

Very uninspired effort against the Jeeps after playing them tough at home
