This will likely cost the Bulldogs a home game in the district quarters. They’ll get an easy win over Chillicothe in round 1, but then have to travel to Unioto for the quarters, not impossible but you’d rather them come to you instead of the bus ride there.

Yes indeed, by the slimmest of margins. I honestly don't think it would have mattered but it is a lot to give up in this game.

Meanwhile, Alex has to be regretting a bad shooting night against River Valley that, in hindsight, may cost them a share of the league title.

I’m surprised the coach’s wife isn’t commenting about this. Probably because they didn’t score 100.

No one would hire someone who will likely go undefeated in the TVC Ohio this season and have good wins against tough non-conference opponents??? I'm sorry, but that's laughable.

This program is right on schedule and is only having a couple of bumps in the road because they are so young. The buy in is there and the Bulldogs are loaded for years to come with girls playing his style of basketball.
Well, hear he announced he’s quitting after losing to Alexander. This really is an Historic Season.

Oh, I would take that bet with you! NO WAY for them to win three in a row!

Uninformed people should not be spreading unfounded rumours.

But, if Coach K were to step down for personal reasons, the school system should be thankful for the mark he made on Athens Girls Basketball.

The season isn't over and I look for them to clinch ANOTHER TVC league title and make a deep tournament run

So, his grandson is also his son? Sounds like the same kind of mess they have in Belpre.
You sure it’s not his wife? Talks about him like a wife would.
Funniest post I've read since Football season. Thanks Donnie!

The coach has even put it on his social media. That makes it not an unfounded rumor! Who is the uninformed one?

And is one tournament win your idea of a DEEP tournament run?

Mr. Rubble-

I also had heard the rumours that this could be the last dance, but I wanted Coach K to make it public on his terms.

I was glad to witness them cut down the nets as the Outright TVC-Ohio champions.

I wish FanDuel would allow me to bet against your tournament prediction for the Lady Dogs.

So he lost a game and decided to cut-n-run? Seems to be a part of their DNA at Athens LOL. But hey at least he was able to score 100 points against one of the worst teams in the state. No other team came close to running it up and scoring that many against that team. So that has to make you proud of your grandson I imagine.

They sure didn't cut any nets down on Saturday afternoon. I expected a bit more of a game I guess, after they hung a hundred on Meigs.

Again, I’ll ask, what is a deep run in your mind? I say they are 1-1 this year.

And it wasn’t a rumor when I posted, he’d already told the kids and school.

So, Athens didn’t score 100 Saturday? What a shame. Could have garnered much boastful praise from grandad if they would have.

It's hard to predict the future because you never know what will happen, but certainly getting to Zanesville is the first step and you go on from there.

The staff is keeping the girls focus on just one game at a time, but I'm sure behind the scenes they are already gameplanning for probable opponents down the road.

Season end at the feet of Unioto.

I think Unioto wins rather easily in this game. Athens has had a nice season with a league title which is an accomplishment but I think Unioto is just too much for the Bulldogs.

Unioto 75
Athens 53

Athens had a nice team and season, just didn’t have an answer to Smith and Hamilton as they combined for 54 for the Shermans

Don't get me wrong, I do not mean to take anything away from the players. But to be fair, you have to give him a credit for developing it. He just has them playing a style of basketball that you normally don't see at the high school level.

Go Bulldogs!
Thats not true...you dont see that style in the Ohio Division...You need to watch Hocking games if you dont normally see it because its everywhere in that league.
Haven't seen any Hocking games Trampoline, so I can't say. It just seems like in watching the Bulldog games this year, he is playing chess and the opponents' coaches are playing checkers. No teams have come close to having any answers this year and most of last year.

Things will get tougher as they move deeper in the tournament in March, no doubt.
They won’t be playing in March grandpa. And the Unioto coach took your grandson’s checkers and forced a checkmate. Now he’s gonna cut-n-run.
