I can't say too much but they are waiting on the February board meeting. Which in my opinion is not smart, you are wasting time when the team could be in the weightroom working out already. Is the football team even working out right now? Does anyone know?

There are a few in the weightroom but It is very small in numbers. They can wait until the board meeting for approval but why have they not announced anything. Transparency in the district is really bad.Fayette_Panther1963 wrote: Thu Jan 23, 2025 12:30 pm I can't say too much but they are waiting on the February board meeting. Re: Washington court house football
After watching wch scrimmage pv last year, I think the fact that last years coach was able to win games was impressive.

Comparing a normal educational aid to the Head football coach salary wise is comparing apples to oranges. The "math" doesn't have to add up. That is the thing about a single high school district.... they basically can make up their own rules.FightingFisherman61 wrote: Thu Jan 23, 2025 1:21 pm I cant wait to hear this deal!!!!! Yes they can! When it comes to supplementals they can do what every they want. Chuck as no affiliation with Teaches union because he is not a teacher at WCH. Support Staff has their own union. Remember the head coaching job is a supplemental so they can give the job to whoever.go court house wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 8:45 amThey actually CANT do that. Sounds like Everson old Staff wants to stay together and is buddies with the other candidate. I am hearing they are the ones that are spearheading the complaint against Chuck. I think it comes down to the other staff members who know that if chuck gets the job that he will bring in his own guys and only a few from last years staff will be asked back.

They are separate contracts, you get a contract for head coach and a contract for teaching through the schools. So are you saying just because you coach football you can be given any type of contract? So lets see if this adds up, you offer a head football coach who will be an aide $60,000, over a lets say history high school teacher who has a bachelors degree and being an assistant on staff $49,000. But thats ok because he is a head football coach. Apples to Apples and not the family game.

They really can't. Washington has contract guidelines for their coaches. Looking at their contracts which is public record the head football coach will be paid just over 8,000.00 for coaching. From what I am being told chuck holds no teaching license. If they try to pay him what I keep hearing he wants, you are going to end up with a teachers strike. I have been told that several teachers have sent emails to the AD expressing their concerns of bringing chuck back. Seems like it's a small minority who really want himOldschoolcoach wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:19 amYes they can! When it comes to supplementals they can do what every they want. My brother in law is a union rep for a teachers local. He said that supplemental contracts are set by the teachers contract in all public schools in Ohio. Non-certified people are paid a set rate. Teachers would get a percentage based upon the number of years the said teacher has. That can be the only adjustment the board can make. The board can decide how many years of seniority they want to pay for. IE, a teacher may have 20 years in, but the board will only pay for 10 years. They also can't pay for any years the teacher doesn't have in.

Oh im sure I embellished a little there. What I was trying to convey is that I have many teachers friends in the district. They all talk, nothing stays quiet around here for long. None of them are happy with the numbers that are being thrown around about potential pay. When our teachers have to fight for a raise, have very sub standard Healthcare plans, they won't sit back and take someone who isn't even licensed to teach come in and make more money than them. Many of our coaches are not teachers in the district, you don't see the district just throwing out crazy jobs and figures for them.Fayette_Panther1963 wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 10:18 amGo Court House, you have said a lot but "teachers going on strike" is the most dramatic thing you have ever said and that's pretty impressive coming from yougo court house wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 5:19 pmThey really can't. J.T., this is the craziest thing you’ve said all along. The teachers contracts at WCH have a no strike clause. Head coaching supplemental contracts can and do increase with experience.go court house wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 5:19 pmThey really can't. Washington has contract guidelines for their coaches. There’s a group of youth coaches in this community who are mad that their two year experiment under Dave Everson was an absolute joke. Sponsors pulling donations because they didn’t want to be associated with the dysfunction. All time low program numbers. Being Rivals with board members. With all that said I’d like to know who you’re talking to because it’s clearly a small group of people. You’re mad Coach Williamson is coming back. You’re mad that Dave was a train wreck and you’re mad that things didn’t go your way. Stop complaining and buy in for once.

That I can agree with. If I was in a teachers position I am sure that would frustrate me as well. However, it comes back to are there 3,000 people showing up to a science experiment? I know that sounds harsh but it's the reality of where we are as a society.go court house wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 1:19 pmOh im sure I embellished a little there. Re: Washington court house football
Teachers will always complain about districts hiring coaches. You know as much as anyone WCH teachers are not going on a strike over Chuck if they hire him. Look at their pay it's one of the worst pay scales around the area if they haven't striked over that then I would say they're not going to. IS Go Court House so worried he wont be coaching next year if Oaks doesn't get the job??

Re: Washington court house football
I think quoting the movie The Program is very comical. Especially the irony of a part in the movie when they are trying to get someone back into school when he cheated and got expelled. Regardless offering someone a bigger pay day because he coaches football is a travesty. Remember the kids are students before athletes. So Fayette Panther you agree with giving a coach more money to a coach than a teacher. I read you said:
Go Court House, you have said a lot but "teachers going on strike" is the most dramatic thing you have ever said and that's pretty impressive coming from you

This sir is the funniest thing you think?

Re: Washington court house football
So Kimling and the Committee decided Chuck was the best candidate for the job, but upon proceeding with his recommendation he has been met with backlash from teachers regarding Chuck's asking price? Is that where we are with this situation currently?
