Minford @ Miami Trace

PFloyd's #2 vs. #3 Tuesday Night -- Predictions.

I've always thought Minford was marginally the better team but hard to dismiss a team like Miami Trace that has found a way to win 19 in a row without a loss.

Does playing at Trace give them the edge? The key may be whether Minford can neutralize to some degree the Trace inside game. I'll say Minford by 6 points but not confident about it.

I’m pretty confident in minford for this one, skill wise it’s minford and I like shoemaker to matchup with Guthrie defensively around the board I think minford is better but trace is no joke, I think a guy like robinette would need to play a good game along with Guthrie and sayers to pull this off, either way excited abt this one

Should be a great matchup. I just hope the weather holds up. Shoemaker said on the radio Friday after the Wheelersburg game that if this game got cancelled for Tuesday, then they would try to play it Wednesday.

I like matchups in this game ... Shoemaker 6-4 strength vs 6-8 Guthrie strength ... in my little mind - defensively vs MT you have to have a body who can match Guthrie's strength on the blocks ... a strong body that can make Guthrie "work" to GET to his spots from block to block ... I think Shoemaker can match the strength, to keep Guthrie "further" OUT on the floor/might be still in the paint, but he will have to put the ball on the floor "to get" to the blocks ... as soon as he puts the ball on the floor - advantage Falcons ... Minford has the quickness and speed to double down, force the ball out of Guthrie's hands - again a win for the Falcons ... now MT HAS Robinette/Salyers who CAN hit the 3 ball ... both Robinette and Salyers have height at 6-4'ish AND both are long ... Baker for MT is a strong body who can bully his way to the rim & kick out ... I like any matchup of Montgomery & Kayser offensively and energy wise at both ends ... they can both score at all three levels which puts pressure on MT ... all Falcon positions can pressure the ball - advantage Minford ... Miami Trace has a solid makeup to the roster and a 6-8 football lineman build & strength body in the paint at both ends as an enforcer THAT IS a BIG (pun intended) advantage ... Shoemaker offensively can pull Guthrie out as Shoe can/does score from 3, if you don't come out he will light a defense up from the top of the key ... Shoemaker sees the floor, can deliver the backdoor pass, Montgomery/Kayser/Reeder all attack the rim & draw contact ... going to be a great game between 2 of the best in Southern/SEOhio ... if you are a fan of high school hoops played the right way/coached the right way THIS ONE is a must see imo ... hoping the snow doesn't happen or that it can for sure be made up on Wednesday ...

MT length in their zone could present a problem for Minford. Minford will have the two best basketball players on the court. MT has a significant advantage in the paint in my opinion.

IF the game goes up and down, Minford will win easily. If MT Zone slows down Minford and makes Montgomery and company to take long, contested perimeter shots, the MT will have a shot.

Super excited for this game, will be a great test for MT to see what adjustments they got to do to make a deep playoff run….I believe this will be MT’s first game this year being the underdog.

I think MT in a close one or Minford gets it going by double digits

MT’s guard length and movement on defense is tough. MT not a great shooters gym. Expect very physical play with minimal foul calls.

Game will come down to Kayser in my opinion

I’m going to say Minford by 12, Kayser will be the difference maker! The kid has been smooth with his mid range jumper!

Which school are you wondering about? Minford offered to come tomorrow but Miami Trace girls have a game. Pretty simple. Probably no conspiracy since most other schools canceled games due to snow.

But enlighten us as to which team dodged which team?

Both teams are very good….I was just curious if teams had players sick….I know Minford not going to dodge any team….Im for Trace and live in fayette county theres no snow….i dont know how bad it is in Minford.

School was canceled at Minford, while I don’t think they got nearly as much as what was predicted, it was still much worse in Scioto County than north of it.
