... sorry about this weeks' rankings being late ... had to make an unexpected trip to Delaware during the height of the what started as rain in Hocking County, then ice as we got to Fairfield, then ice/snow mix in near Pic'town then blizzard conditions in Franklin and Delaware counties ... returned with the blowing snow/snow drifts on the roads coming down Rt 37 from Sunbury to Lancaster ... not a great day for pfloyd ... doesn't sound great for the opening week of the post season or the end of the regulars season this week either ... hoping to get to South Webster for the Minford vs South Webster game but Mother Nature & Old Man Winter is making it tough ...

... there will be one last Final Regular Season Ranking after this week ... probably before Sunday ... time to tip off the Road to the Convo ... see who earns the golden ticket to the Mecca of Boys High School Hoops in the SouthEast district ... best of luck to all teams ...

... just looked at the accuweather for this week - good through Tuesday night ... looks like the pfloyd tour WILL BE on the road to South Webster Tuesday with the doors opening at 4:45p ... going to squeeze everything out this regular season before we roll into the post season, one and done, survive and advance season ... the Goal is to get to the Convo ... then ODU, Convo, Fairgrounds ( the Barn) ... I'm not even sure where they are playing the State Semi's - all normal people would have the usual State semi's & finals in one place - Dayton ... but ... the world isn't run by normal people ...

Looking forward to tournament time! Still some interesting games on Monday and Tuesday before it gets going though

SOSA will have a couple of girls games this week and I believe a boys game on Thursday. Many more games once next week starts, just the cost of actually running the streams increases once the tournament gets under way since the OHSAA has to get their share

Several teams with good won-loss records with zero “quality” wins and some losses that shouldn’t have been —ranked surprisingly high. This is an opinion board — that’s mine. No’s 7-15 or so relatively close but some have deceptively high winning percentages.

I think it's fair to look at strength of schedule and determine what teams are capable of competing (and sometimes winning) against top-ranked teams. And concurrently which teams played well and lost a game by a couple of points against great teams. To me, that all factors in. When you do that, those ranked at seventh to 11th just don't fit the criteria -- better teams below them with more positive bodies of work. And I would at least consider the size of the school and its schedule against schools the same size or larger as a factor (not as important as strength of schedule but a factor). Beating a DVII team in a weak conference not as impressive as beating a DIII team in a strong conference, even if the DIII opponent doesn't have a great winning pct.

*Having said all of this, I doubt anyone knows SE Ohio basketball better than PFloyd. Is there a PFloyd anywhere else in Ohio that does this kind of intensive work? I doubt it.

Nobody does the work that PFloys does!

Hookshot, I has states that Eastern Pike has had a great year with their schedule (and Ive seen them 3 times now), but they would struggle against 10-17). SVC was down, but Unioto did beat #14 ZT twice, #15 Fairfield, #21 Circleville, and #25 Courthouse) so really cant drop them. North Adams and Eastern Brown are solid, but they are not as strong as they have been nor is the SHAC. I honestly think nobody above New Lexington in the rankings would want to play them and they are #16 due to their record (12-10) *brutal schedule. Just some thoughts.
