Marietta’s schedule not horrible, despite that there are so many weak teams in the region. Tigers schedule included Monroe Central and Meigs like Warren, but also New Philadelphia, Steubenville, John Glenn, Akron Ellet. Warren added Minford and Fairland but didn’t play these other teams. Warren is a really good team, especially at home, and could make the final four. Not beating them had nothing to do with scheduling.
Schedule better than I thought, but they played some terrible teams. Get most of those off the schedule.
... not sure if the ADs put together the schedule or how much the coaches have say in the schedule ... with the schedule Marietta had - they lost to Monroe Central @ Sutton Gym , lost to Meigs on the road , lost to Warren 2 times on the road with the one win vs Warren at home in Sutton Gym, beat New Philly at Sutton Gym, never played Steubenville , best John Glenn at Sutton gym, lost to Akron Ellet on the road ... lots of home W's ... Warren played and beat Minford on a neutral court, played and beat Fairland on a neutral court ... beat Meigs at the Coliseum (home)... beat Marietta 2 x at home ... the closest home game for Warren was the Chillicothe game an OT win - one they should have lost but didn't in regulation ... big home court advantage for both teams ... I watched the Marietta win over John Glenn - not sure how that happened when compared to the game before and since ... that team hasn't shown since that W ... Warren is the better overall team ... Marietta has a ton returning 7 players saw action from last night's loss to Warren will return in 2025-26 ... should be an excellent team for Coach Gardner & Coach Warner - they will be ranked in the top 10 in the preseason rankings ...

found this in the marietta times…

The third-year Marietta head coach felt like things could have possibly turned out a bit different for the Tigers had senior Junior Bass been available to play the second half of the season.

“It’s tough being under-manned without your best player and that was Warren’s decision at the beginning of the year,” said Gardner of Bass. “His situation of not being able to play the full season because of one individual is tough, but he’s going to have an opportunity to play college ball.”

Bass, who lived in the Warren Local School District but played for Belpre High School his first three seasons, transferred to Marietta this year but was ineligible to play in the second half of the season due to transfer rules.

Gonna need more than that, because if he’s living in another school’s district and doesn’t move into the next district, then you’re going to have to sit. Obviously there are some other circumstances, but a way to guarantee it is to move.
