Do you think that Burgs coaching staffs inability to utilize Evans correctly played a role in him transferring to Ironton or does he just view Ironton as a better destination?

He’s not the explosive player everyone seems to think, he’s ok on offense, not good as a punt returner, he is good on D close to the line of scrimmage. I think it’s a situation where he thinks he’s a lot better than what he is

Definitely a better destination at this time in football. The Fighting Tigers are Defending State Champions and their contacts with Colleges is second to none in this area.

Burg threw the kid on field as a freshman b/c they was worried he’d transfer to Ironton if not. Ironically, he ends up transferring there anyways. Lesson in there.*

Maybe. I tell ya though, I sure do remember hearing more than a few of burgs fans during the season kinda express they didn't feel like he was getting the best opportunities in burg offense. Many went as far as to say he was being done a bit of a disservice because of the offense. Idk. So do you think he transferred because he viewed an opportunity that maybe he or his family felt he wasn't receiving in burgs program or are ya on the record that it is because he thinks he is better than he really is?

I think you may have hit on a good point by accident. Kids at Ironton sure do feel a lot more developed compared to the burg kids that last few years. Very possible this kid felt like there was alot more to gain and learn that wasn't being addressed in the burg program.

He’s not the only freshman we have rushed up, and the results have not been good. We’ve lost good upper class boys who have gotten frustrated by these freshmen being moved up so quickly, and we’ve watched these freshmen not get developed the way they should have been.

Time to go back to when no freshmen played or even dressed varsity. Let the kids mature and develop. The program will be better for doing so.

You’d be surprised if you were able to look at team stats from this past year, plenty of touches and targets. I’d probably be safe on saying probably led in that department. Keep in mind this was on a team that lost 75% of their offensive and defensive production from last year and still went to the regional.

Ok. But i am not wrong. Heard it more than a few times. Idon't know why some in the burg fan base feel how they feel. Maybe it's not the amount of touches & the kid was frustrated by burgs lack of a real affirmed offensive identity? No idea why. Maybe he looked at the kids playing his position at Ironton over his past three seasons & watching that offense this past season was the final straw? I'm just thinking practically. Matter fact maybe the decision wasnt all football related anyways. Who knows. Bold move. Confident move. Good for the kid. It is his life after all.

Let's sprinkle a lil gas on this.

Can we now talk about or envision or at minimum acknowledge the possibility of a scenario week 6 inside Ed Miller Stadium and this kid catches a Tuddy vs his former Pirate faithful as a Fighting Tiger? Boy oh boy. A year post 92 to 7 is diabolical work. Salt in the wound!! Salt in the wound!!

You guys just love to say 92-7. I get it that you scored a lot of points across the board last year. You had a playmaker in Terry that demanded everyone’s attention. He is gone now and he was a once in a lifetime talent for the move in to I-town. I assure you that it will be different this year. You lost about half of both your offense and defense. I know… you will say there are kids ready to step up but it is a new team with a new schedule. We will everyone at the Ed week 6 and we will have the milk jugs ready for some Pirate Touchdowns!!

I wish him well. It’s just a game. A couple of years from now no one will remember or care.
