Until the 2022-23 season, Marietta had no league titles since 2006 and no sectional since 2009. More competitive now. Three straight league co-championships and. 54-16 record (.771) in past three seasons. You mentioned their “horrible” schedule this season. Not accurate — in addition to Warren twice, Tigers scheduled Meigs, Monroe Central, New Philadelphia, Steubenville, John Glenn and Akron Ellet and a couple other teams at or better than .500. Don’t see a major difficulty difference vs Warren’s schedule.
Didn't Marietta avoid making up the game with Steubenville?

Didn't realize this until I saw a post this morning but the Central district winner will have a week long break after tonight meanwhile our district champ won't be decided until Sunday giving them one day of rest before playing again on Tuesday 3/4 IN Columbus, total BS.

It’s pretty standard at this point honestly. They still are trying to evade the negative culture. With that being said
I’ve been impressed with them the last two years but they just proved how impressive Maddox and co have been over the last 20 years. Marietta was as talented as Warren the last two years and Warren has 5-10 more wins and counting.
It’s not easy to do what Warren has done the culture is thick and runs deep in the Vincent area for hoops all started at a young age that winning takes a team and unbelievable effort by all on the court.
Yup.

Just basketball evaluation and discussion. I have not seen anyone write that Warren didn’t deserve to win or that Marietta has the better team.

True, Marietta had not had a winning “culture” for a long time. To be 37-73 in the 5 years prior to 2022-23 and then share 3 league titles with Warren and have an .830 winning percent over the last two seasons isn’t. There is no point in arguing some of the other comments you made. But while it is true Warren has developed a winning culture/attitude it would not be accurate to say they are all “home grown” in Vincent. Congratulations to the Warriors for a great season and expect it to last for quite a few games.

99 percent of warrens talent is home grown. I can think of two players who potentially could have went to belpre in the last 15 years.

Regardless Marietta has done a fantastic job in recent years but the multiple technical fouls vs Warren was why I made the comment that the culture is not fully healed. I do see Marietta being good as long as they keep their HC. In my opinion Warren overachieved mightily outside of Stedleman that wasn’t a very good basketball team.

Report back on the school of residence of the top 9 Warren players please. Even if you don’t want to name names, how many live in other districts?

Answer my question. Dog or not in the fight. You know the answer. And the answer to your question is “No”.

I don’t even mind players changing districts. Not the issue either.

I was complaining about this as well (for the past week and couldn't get an answer). From what I was told from a few sources yesterday at the Convo, they did this so that they could get the SE district a game at the Convo and it was the only way they could do it.

TOP 9 Players ever or this years team?

The only player in question would be stadleman and I'm almost certain they live in Warrens School District.
