Whiteoak’s Landon Eyre State Indoor 3200 Champion

Post by Ironman92 »

Eyre competed at the Indoor state championships at the SPIRE Academy and took home 1st place in the D4 3200 by defeating 1600 meter champion Will Baker of Mt Gilead by nearly 4 seconds. A couple hours prior Eyre finished runner up to Baker in the 1600

Eyre now has 2 state championships, 2 state runner-ups and a 3rd, 4th and 5th place finish on the state podium.

Eyre will be running at Youngstown St this coming fall

His recovering ability from the 1600 to the 3200 is like no one I’ve seen. Big timers sit out the 1600 to go for it In the 3200 and he does better after going after the 1600, then jogging a decent bit between. His workouts (which he’s not really done since XC) are head shaking. He’s only done mile building and he’s done nothing under 5:00 mile pace.

Time to get at it

Would have loved to have seen Snavley in that race alongside Eyre. Fireworks this season!
