Mike Dress 5th State was from Nelsonville-York not Belpre
and Mohney N-Y 6th State last year with Young being 2nd.
The 1989 Nelsonville-York team was 10th in the State Yinger 1st and Shawn Ward HVY finished 6th

Hardrock I think Hawk from New Lex was 5th and Spohn was 4th that year.
The Spicel boy from New Lex placed a few times and Bookman from Logan placed 5th in 2002 if I'm not mistaken.

Belpre should be somewhere ahead of most of these schools.

I agree Belpre is right there with the top schools. Coach Hosaflook always had solid teams.

Wellston's Coach Les DeLong produced a state placer in 2005, the school's first year competing following a 30+ year hiatus. I chose the word produced due to the 6th place finisher having taken up wrestling in Nov. of 2004. Would have been interesting to see him with another year of experience.

It will be interesting to see how Matt Lockard progesses for Wellston in the next three seasons.

While Isaac is a good footballer , wrestling and baseball are his best sports. Got injured in wrestling last year late in season ,had only lost a few matches .Did't get to play baseball last year . Throws hard in baseball mid/ upper 80's . I have heard he has hit 90's in workouts this summer .

Cassidy Wilford From Meigs is a really tough kid, Great wrestler and Good Football player. Ive seen him wrestle only one time but it was enough to impress me.

Cassidy will be very tough to beat this year. Should contended for the TVC along with the Vinton County 285.

Who's that Bookman kid???

Awww, I know him! I've seen him wrestle before. He was fun to watch...liked to have conversations with his opponents during a match! ;)

Belpre's Packard and Cooper should be outstanding this year. Belpre has a very difficult schedule this year with Medina, Logan Elm, Parkersburg, and Parkersburg South.
I don't see a TVC title because of such low numbers and not filling the classes but there are handful of individual that will do well.

Otterslide- Don't forget Tim Randloph and Mike Waderker, two of the best in our area.
