[quote="4sporterEHS"]yeah, and people care about wrestling??? how many people attend the state wrestling match???
That is what I call bashing my sport! What does it matter how many days? As you stated, nobody cares about wrestling. The attendance numbers are as good as any college football game. Thats a hole lot of people who don't care about wrestling..............

well, i garauntee, that wrestling matches dont have as many people attend then a college football game, cause there isnt a place that will seat over 100,000 indoors.......and it has to be dragged out 2 or 3 or 4 days .....i dont know.......

Ok, thats fine, I don't think anyone will argue that? See, to win state in wrestling, you have to wrestle your 4 best matches of the year, or just enough to beat the other guy. In cross country, any runner who is having a really good day can win. I know there is a top tier of runners who seperate themselves from others, but wrestling gives no room for error.
4sporter maybe you should look in to wrestling and try it before you go running your mouth off about it. you might find you were wrong about it just like about everything else you've said on this whole topic.
long distance running is hard. i dont doubt that but it doesnt compare to how you feel after 2 or 3 days of wrestling as hard as you can go when you cut 10 to 15 pounds that week. almost every wrestler has ran his butt off for conditioning so its not like your talking to a bunch of people who have never ran or something. not to mention those who dedicated and do it year around. believe it or not our basketball team even tried it a couple times. you on the other hand have never wrestled and dont have anything to even relate to. can you even form an opinion about something you have no idea about? so really youre guessing that cross country is tougher than wrestling. or something like that...
whats so strategic about running hard for a long time. im no genious but seems to me its just running hard for a long time. maybe its running faster, ive thought about it but i just dont see it.
theres no injuries in wrestling?? well i guess i have had some really serious cases of stubed toe and i have gotten kinda tired running too. i guess your right, cross country is some serious stuff. i cant believe schools allow this sport... lol what a joke

well youve been to wrestling practices and watched deducated wrestlers(that are good or bad) to know what are conditioning is like then havent you. you still have no clue and you are still guessing that our conditioning isnt hard running. what do you think were doing speed walking? you havent had anything to support anything youve said. even though we run for wrestling instead of cross country that means i dont know what running is like?? are you kidding me?? if youre running is so much different please explain how to do it because the only way i know how to is to put one foot infront of the other many many times really fast. do you do something else?? is there a different way to run?? please explain im losing sleep over this... ive tried some other stuff in my yard but the only thing i came up with was skipping..
Running is more complex than just putting a foot in front of another. You have to have balance, speed, stamina, strategy on when to run, pace, hydratated during races, you have to eat the right food, you have to be flexible enough, and put in the miles to be able to run a 5k race. Lets not take away the mental aspect of running either, its not easy running 3 miles on a rigid course under certain circumstances. However running isnt wrestling. Wrestling is more physical and demanding mentally. The only way to prove that is let someone like Corbin Boney and Michael Owens take a try at their respective sports. My bet is Boney runs a sub 18:30 before Owens gets 15 wins.

pdub05----i can tell you how running is harder then just putting your feet in front of another as fast as you can.......that is called sprinting.......and im talking about Distance running..........5K (3.1 miles) or 8K (5 miles) or a marathon.......etc......
First Off PACE
You can not just run as fast as you can the entire race...........that is not logical.........you have to run the whole race hard, but still have enough left for a Kick at the end..........and its not the same every race...you have to study the runners, kow who you can run with and when you can pass him or stay behind him and wait for the right momement........and if you start out to hard or too slow you have to accomidate for that on the spot.......
TRAINING
Some people think that runners just go out and run 5 or 8 miles a day, but it is definatley not like that.......2 or 3 times a week (or pending on the runner) they do a Workout.......they consist of.....mile repeats, 1000's 800's.......two-mile repeats.......400's......fartlegs.......intervals......surges.....and on and on.......there ar so many differant types of workouts and you have to do them at the right time in your training to feel good for race day.......and there are long days (do many more miles at a medium pace).....easy days (not really less miles, but at a little slower pace)........
PREPARATION
In Competition, you also have to study the coarse, and most importantly your competition. As I mentioned before, you have to know what runners you can PACE yourself off of, and when to leave him, and start making your move. You have to know the coarse before you run it. Know what spots you can run hard at, and when a good spot to pass people. Also, know the coarse conditions, muddy spots, dry spots, and so on..........
and i gaurantee you dont know what real running is........im talking about running as a sport, cross country.....not running as conditioning......totallt differant'
and i agree that you have to be in more physical shape.....in muscle and strength wise........BUT its hard for a 250 pound or more guy be a good runner......and runners have to have great leg strength and lung strength, meaning great endurance

4sports get real read your stupid posts. your the fool that starts trouble stay off the Wrestling site. look at your cute little picture and you are a CC man. lol I have done both. But at the age 35 ran A Half-Marathon and about 20 5k. I have wrestled Hundreds of matches but at 35 would not be stupid enough to try it. there is no comparison. Running is very tough but the physical beating in wrestling is painfull. I have a few guys who need a practice partner for off season training if you would like to try it. lol. Pbud and the rest please quit responding to this fool
corbin is one of my good friends and have wrestled with him since elementary school. i wouldnt "bash" him. it took the most immature person on here to realize how stupid argueing with you on a computer really is. tric you definately got me on the running part but i never got my senior match. whats the deal? j/k maybe ill stop by practice for it.lol

Wrestling definitely takes more heart
I don't think there is a chance of another running getting me down, popping my shoulder out of joint, or wiping the mats with me until covered with matburn.
I was a distance running in high school. Our school didn't have wrestling at the time but I'm involved with it now because both my boys wrestle.
Definitely wrestling requires more skill, heart, and determination.
