The Byrds
To this day the Byrds beleive they wuz robbed. In the spring of 1966,they'd had #1 hits with two of their first three singles,Mr.Tambourine Man and Turn! Turn! turn! Now with Eight Miles High ,they thought they'd get their third chart-topper.The Byrds who began on a folk-rock foundation two years brfore ,had ventured into psychedelia and space rock by way of Indian sitars and electronic effects.Eight Miles High would be seen as an acid-rock breakthrough,a high point for the band.Radio station band together and wouldn't play it.

Eight Miles High, one of my favorites of all time. There was a Byrds tribute band that came to Ironton about 5 or 6 years ago that done a very long version of the song. It was awesome to say the least and I've saw Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young do it too around that time, the tribute band just nailed it.
Well, Who Wouldn't Love Them Fighting Tigers?!
