Canceled TV shows....
Re: Canceled TV shows....
NBC has cancelled Fear Itself, an anthology of suspense & horror stories. While not a bad show, it couldn't scare up enough RATINGS.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
NBC has cancelled Most Outrageous Moments dueta declining ratings & interest.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
NBC has cancelled Nashville Star, which ran for awhile on USA before airing on NBC. It never did have very good ratings.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
NBC has thankfully cancelled one of the most GOSH-AWFUL progs they ever aired-Momma's Boys. This horrible pieca reality trash should never have been made, let alone AIRED! GOOD RIDDANCE!
Mosta the NBC shows above are currently off the air, & it's quite apparent they won't be back!

Comedy central has cancelled the hilarious Chocolate News, starring David Alan Grier. An old story-Good show, poor Neilsens.

This just ruined my day. First The Shield now Nip/Tuck. God i hope they dont cancel Rescue Me.
Rescue me seems healthy right now! I like it also! But things can change almost overnight...
Hopefully they dont! Ill be down to only House to watch!

Yeah...they're even resurrecting the ABC reality flop I'm A Celebrity-Get Me Outta Here! This show is a success in England, but tanked instantly on ABC a coupla years ago, & NBC is stupid enuff to bring it back!
I wouldn't be shocked to see'em bring back some of the CW's flops! I'm sure CBS would sell'em to NBC for a song!
Sure am glad we have over 200 channels, an XBox 360, & this PC!

Loox as if Fox has yanked Hole In The Wall for the 2nd time. Not that it was a bad show, but very low Neilsens caused it to be cancelled before. Why Fox would bring back a show that failed to draw even 4 million viewers per episode in its previous run is beyond me,(Loox like sumpin the CW would do) unless they had some exec suite deal not made public. But it appears the show has gotten a permanent green weenie now.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
I am concerned for the CW's future. They occasionally have a good show, even now. But its prog director, Dawn Ostroff, is obsessed with reaching the young adult female demo at the expense of attracting other viewing demos. They even dropped their most-viewed prog, Smackdown, cuz it wasn't attractine enuff of the desired demo. (It was swiftly picked up by the lame MyNetwork, & instantly became their most-viewed prog, & about all they have left now.)
Ostroff & friends just cannot realize the young adult female demo has many other nets, netlets, & local stations vying for its viewership, & no one of them is gonna draw enough viewership from just this one demo to sustain it or keep the sponsors happy.
Lately, the CW has often not drawn a million viewers for mosta its shows besides America's Next Top Model, & this show is losing steam. If it flops, the CW will soon be toast.

Latest casualty: NBC's Chopping Block.
Another reality show bites the dust. In this show, eight newbie coox were split into 2 teams of four , each team was given an empty restaurant space in NYC, & had to plan, open, & operate a new restaurant.
Not once in 3 eps aired did it have even 4 million viewers!

Re: Canceled TV shows....
Seems as if One Tree Hill will have their final 5 episodes starting in three weeks....not sure if the CW canned one of their best shows or if the writers decided to end it. My guess is the writers knew the time was coming to end the story of One Tree Hill.
Almost would like to see them do a spin off with Nathan's family and his basketball comeback.

Re: Canceled TV shows....
CW isn't exactly known as a hotbed of erudition. In their brilliance, they have:
1,) Dropped their MOST-WATCHED show, Smackdown. it was quickly picked up by the otherwise-inane MyNetwork.
2.) Dropped one of their most-watched shows, Gilmore Girls, in favor of the ratings-starved Veronica Mars.(Personally, I watched VM, but not GG, so I'm not speaking outta bias.) However, VM kept losing viewers, so inevitably it was cancelled also.
3.) Has aired some of the most abysmally gosh-awful & least-watched reality shows in history.(Farmer Wants A Wife, Crowned! The Mother Of All Beauty Pageants, etc.)
And that's just for starters. Their biggest mistake is keeping Dawn Ostroff as their Prog Director; her obsession with the female age 18-34 demo is running the CW into the ground. She just can't understand that there's too much competition for that same demo by local stations as well as from the other nets & netlets for any one net to become dominant.
One of two things is gonna happen soon:
A.) they fire Ostroff & radically revise the netlet
or:
B.) It tanks.
