Canceled TV shows....
Re: Canceled TV shows....
Showtime has cancelled "Weeds", about a widowed mom who starts selling pot to support her family. It lasted 8 seasons, but interest began to dwindle last season.& the Neilsens finally became unacceptable.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
Fox has dumped Take Me Out, a stupid dating/relationship "game" show, which, in effect, was just another smarmy reality show. Viewers stayed away in droves, prompting the axe. I wish ALL shows of this genre would follow it into TV hell.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
Starz has cancelled Spartacus, but cuz its star, Andy Whitfield, died. However, they have some eps in the can, and will air them into the spring of 2013.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
ABC has cancelled GCB, a little-watched unfunny sitcom. I don't believe very many people cared
Re: Canceled TV shows....
CBS cas cancelled "3", another stupid dating/relationship/reality show that never shoulda aired. The TV suits just can't understand that most viewers are tired of this krap. If I wanted to watch trash, I'd replace my TV with a garbage can.

FIRST CANCELLATION OF THE NEW SEASON!
CBS has yanked Made In Jersey, a show about a young street-smart lawyer who joins a NYC upscale law firm, after only two eps. However, CBS, the leader in total viewers(except during football season) and viewers in that most-desired demographic of viewers age 18-49, can afford to quickly yank a show that doesn't meet their viewership goals. They have not said if they plan to air the additional eps already in the can, release thm on the internet, or what, yet.

Re: Canceled TV shows....
ABC Family has cancelled The Secret Life Of The American Teenager, not due to lacka popularity, but due to the fact that teenagers don't remain teenagers forever.
However, it's not yanked immediately. There's a holiday special airing on Nov. 19, and the final eps, providing some closure for the storylines will air beginning March 2013.

I thought that one looked like a real stinker when I saw the previews. I'm not surprised it got the ax.Misteroby wrote:FIRST CANCELLATION OF THE NEW SEASON!

CANCELED BEFORE IT AIRED ONCE!
NBC has yanked Next Caller, a show about a radio call-in show that's hired a spunky feminist to co-anchor the show with a "male chauvinist" who's fulla locker-room humor. Reportedly, the NBC suits became disenchanted with the direction the show was taking after four eps were in the can. (They'd ordered seven eps, but only four had been completed when the ax fell.) No word on whether or not they'll ever air anywhere or be placed on the internet.
Big hit or a quick tanker? Guess we'll never know.

Re: Canceled TV shows....
NBC at it again...they didn't "monkey around" with Animal practice, giving it a pink slip today. No word with what they'll do with unaired eps already in the can.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
ABC has canceled Private practice, a spinoff of Grey's Anatomy. This show had a good run, but declining ratings plus its stars' wanting to move on led to its pink slip. However, all eps in the can will air.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
The CW netlet is ending Gossip Girl after seven more eps, counting the one airing tonight. Now, while this show didn't get an ouitright cancellation, its declining Neilsens said it was time to wrap it up. I'm sure, given the legion of CW fans out there, that this will be a bitter pill to swallow, but I believe all three of you will recover. (LOL!)
Re: Canceled TV shows....
Telepictures, which provides material to several nets, is ending its daily talker Anderson Live, hosted by Anderson Cooper, this coming summer due to low Neilsens.
two shows definitely NOT ending are Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, which were given contracts thru the 2016-16 seasons. Also, the stars of both shows were signed up for the duration.

The Travel Channel has cancelled Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, a show in which host Anthony Bourdain travelled to sundry places throughout the USA and other countries, and was treated to local cuisine and customs. The show ran for 9 seasons, but its Neilsens had begun to dry up.

ABC has cancelled 666 Park Avenue, but will air all 13 eps already in the can.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
The Discovery Channel is ending American Chopper, ending it with a 4-way bike build-off Dec. 11, which will air live from Las Vegas. It has been on since 2003, either on Discovery or TLC.
