'Futurama' to end (a second time) after seven seasons

"Futurama" was canceled once before, and now it's being canceled again. Comedy Central announced on Monday that the long-running animated comedy will come to a close at the end of its seventh season on Sept. 4.
The 13-episode final season premieres June 19 and will feature guest voices from Larry Bird, Sarah Silverman, George Takei, Adam West, Burt Ward and the man behind Homer Simpson, Dan Castellaneta.
This isn't the first time "Futurama" has come to an end. It originally aired for four seasons on Fox from 1999 to 2003 before getting the ax. But the show's intense popularity among its fans earned it a second life on Comedy Central, which aired three seasons between 2008 and 2013.
Perhaps because of "Futurama's" ability to transcend death before, co-creator Matt Groening's statement seemed to have a less-than-final air about it. "I'm very proud of the upcoming season. If this is indeed the end of 'Futurama,' it's a fantastic finish to a good, long run," he said.
Meanwhile, Groening's other endeavor, "The Simpsons," continues to air on Fox for its record 24th season. And it will be back for a 25th season in the fall.

CBS has cancelled Dogs In The City, a show about how dogs and their owners in a big city meet the unique challenges of a concrete environment with little grass and many fire hydrants. Not too bad a show, but since CBS is the top net in number of viewers, they can be more choosy with what they air.

NBC has cancelled Deception, a strange show about a narc detective who goes underground into the world of wealthy partiers to try to solve a murder. Script was repetitious, not a very good storyline. Vanishing Neilsens brought on its demise.

This is a shame I always loved to watch this show after Cops on Saturdays and Fox ruined it!Misteroby wrote:It appears that the long run of America's Most Wanted is finally over. There are now quite a few croox behind bars thanx to that show.
After Lifetime dropped it, John Walsh has been shopping it around, but as of this writing, there have been no takers.

NBC has cancelled Go On, which starred Matthew Perry as a radio sports talk show host trying to cope with the death of his wife. Low Neilsens brought on the death of that show.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
NBC has cancelled The New Normal, a show about a gay couple(men) who take in a woman and her daughter as some kind of surrogates.
Sounded like The Old Abnormal to me.
Good Riddance!

NBC has cancelled Whitney, an un-funny sitcom about a photographer and her live-in boyfriend. How it survived this long is a mystery to me; it simply wasn't too funny.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
NBC has cancelled Guys With Kids, a sitcom about three 30ish men trying to cope with fatherhood. It wasn't too funny, and its Neilsens weren't, either.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
NBC has cancelled Up All Night, about a working mom, her stay-at-home hubby, and her opinionated parents. Another un-funny comedy that stayed on the air too long.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
NBC has cancelled Smash, about a theatre troupe and some writers. It was a musical comedy/drama that had some success at first, but its Neilsens soon went south.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
ABC has cancelled Body Of proof, about a medical examiner, both on the job and personal life. Too much personal life, not enough crime-solving sent its Neilsens away.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
ABC has cancelled family Tools, a sitcom about a man who puts his dreams on hold to take over the family handyman business. Killed by low Neilsens.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
ABC has cancelled How To Live With Your Parents (For The Rest Of Your Life), a sitcom about a divorced woman & her child who move in with her parents. While long on title, it was short on laughs, and short in Neilsens. Another un-funny "comedy" bites the dust.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
ABC has cancelled Malibu Country, about a singer(Reba Mc Entire) who divorces her cheating hubby and moves to Malibu with her 3 children and tries to revive her career. However, not even Reba could revive that show, which was DOA from the gitgo. Good cast, poor script.

ABC has cancelled Red Widow, about a gangster's daughter who enters the "underworld" seeking to avenge her hubby's murder. Good premise, poor script.
