Such a task to put this together. Another great job.
A couple of thoughts from my neck of the woods...
Going solely on these rankings you would have Oak
Hill 4th and Wheelersburg 5th in the SOC I! While there are some quality squads in that division, the difference in the two leagues is severe. I feel (and my opinion plus $1 gets you a cheap cheeseburger) that there are 5 teams in SOC II that would win SOC I.
Again, just my opinion and it will play itself out, but that is what is see in relation to SOC basketball.
Great job again, Floyd

Peebles is 7-0. They play Tuesday evening for holiday tourney title.
Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #4
Fairland is the best team in this blog, isn't even close. I mean they will not play Unioto, but they are hands down better than everyone else. Including Peake. ..

Crabs Brother, I couldn't disagree with you more. Based on the evidence at hand where would you place Oak Hill and the Burg?
No way would the 4th or 5th (I don't think the 3rd either) best teams in SOC II win the title in SOC I. The difference in the two leagues is not that severe at the top. I personally think that after Valley and Minford the SOC I has the next best 3-4 teams. Eastern has already beat the Oaks at Oak Hill, and played your Indians to a 1 possession game.
There will be several cross division games in the coming weeks to prove one of us wrong. At the moment however, I think pfloyd has the SOC teams pegged about right.

... in the next 5 games the Dragons will have a chance to play Portsmouth & Lucasville Valley back to back before playing Chesapeake with game against South Point and Gallia Academy ... 3 good tests for Fairland ...
... looking forward to seeing Coach Speed's Dragons vs Valley at the Beasts of the Southeast on Jan. 9th ...

East,EASTERN,Clay and ND would all compete and have a shot at the S.O.C. 2 title. Valley and minford stands alone and eastern has played valley as tough as anyone,East blew EASTERN,ND and Clay out and ND played Portsmouth to a 1 point game, you may want to check the S.O.C. 1 top teams out js.Crab's Brother wrote:Such a task to put this together. Like I said, it was just my opinion.
Eastern played Valley very tough at home and they are a solid team. I had forgotten they already beat Oak Hill so that is a very solid win.
I have been wrong many times and this could certainly be one of them. All I will say is that if I were putting Wheelersburg, Oak Hill, or I would even say Waverly into the SOC I, I would wager that they would end up winning the league.

Trotwood Madison from the Dayton area. They are a traditionally strong D1 in the SW District. They are 7-0 and just dominated a very good Centerville squad. Two years ago, they reached the D1 State Semi's.hateraid wrote:Who beat Fairland?whsball wrote:Fairland is the best team in this blog, isn't even close. Logan takes on Olentangy tonight at home ... an Olentangy team which has lost 3 straight games by a total of 7 points ... 2 point losses to 5-2 Worthington Kilbourne , 8-1 Olentangy Orange and a 3 point loss to 6-1 New Albany ... Olentangy stands at 2-3 BUT the record is extremely misleading ... looking forward seeing where the Logan Purple & White stands going into the new year , 2nd half of the season ... tonight's game will be a tough test for the Chiefs ... need to see improvement at the offensive end - the defense has been good in the half court ... lots of pressure on the half court to make stops though ... Logan needs to make things happen offensively so they can ADD the pressure defense which will ADD the 10-12 points of transition offense to the mix ... tonight would be a GREAT time to have THAT "mark the calendar" "this is the game that kick started TEAM" game ...
