I'm surprised by the lack of competitive games, especially early. I thought the first two would be super tight throughout.

Nice work by the Blue Lions, I'm a big fan of that program and how they play.

I'm with you on that one daniC - I too thought the first 2 games would be the most competitive ... I was surprised by the Valley vs Trimble score but Trimble had not played any real solid competition until today ... I knew Notre Dame would control their contest ... I don't look for PHS to have much problem with Manchester ...

Trimble struggled big time when Valley pressed.

not much a a test for Portsmouth but good thing is we finaly got some points from other kids, hope that gives them to confidence they need.

Only surprise for me was how easy court house handled burg. Knisely poured in 36.

Court house and valley should move in top 8. Logan elm or warren should be out. Trimble looked 15-25 to me. The rest of the teams that I saw today should stay put.

Trimble is a very solid basketball team. They basically controlled the entire first half. At the break the Indians had 10 turnovers, 7 TOTAL rebounds, Rolfe had a goose egg and we were down 3. Once Valley went to the 2-2-1 press the game changed big time.

Rolfe ended up struggling shooting the ball (4-15) but he stuffed the stat sheet (9 assists, 5 boards, 4 steals and a monster block). Blake Howard continued to show why he's one of the better guards around (team high 16 points and added 6 assists).

Valley also got very nice games from Kenny Williams (7 points) and Bryce Romanello (5 3rd quarter rebounds) off the bench. These two seniors were on the floor when Valley made the run to take control.

Monday night against Portsmouth should be fun. Packed house and two of the premier players in this part of the state. Rolfe needs 15 points to reach 1000.

... Valley showed the arsenal of weapons they bring to the court - a TEAM ... I listened to that first half - at one point Valley was OUT-REBOUNDED by Trimble I believe the napkin stat the radio guys threw out was 19-2 !!! THAT stat bothers me some as Trimble IS "height" challenged but still controlled the boards vs the bigger/taller Indians ... Crab's Brother - any final rebounding stats on last night's game ?

... Monday night's game will be a dandy ! ... homegrown teams going at it ... final game of the night ... "star status" players on the court for both teams ... trojandave in the stands ... trojandave might I say MIGHT get escorted out in this one ! just saying it's possible !!! LOL

Trojans the under dog in this one ,but I feel pretty good about our chances the Trojans seem to gear up for the big games and Valley comes in undefeated and standing tall, this is always a great game to watch glad they are getting together in regular season, and could possibly see each other again.

No total rebounding stats only that we ended up with 22 total. Our guys were completely pushed around and Trimble flat out played harder than we did in the first half. It appeared our guys thought our size alone would control the glass and they learned the hard way. I expect a more physical and determined Indian team tomorrow night.

Could see 2 players reach 1000 points tomorrow night. Brandon Rowe needs 19 points and Bryan Rolfe needs 15. Would make for a night to have both reach their milestone.

Rose Hill has been horrible the past few years since the recruiting scandals and probation , have they recovered yet ?

Ironton missed several FT's at the end.
