The Federal Department of Online Commerce has been compiling a list of US-based e-mail addresses. Once 100 million addresses have been collected, the list will be sold to online marketers as part of President Bush's plan to reduce the deficit.

Coca-Cola is teaming up with a Chinese medicinal research academy to develope drinks based on traditional Chinese herbs and formulas. The Chinese academy's president, Hongxin Cao, said the partnership would combine Coke's global reach with Chinese medicine's "more holistic view on health."
