Mad for something 30 years ago is the definition of petty and small-minded.

^^^Correct^^^NYBuckeye96 wrote:I don't see why anyone would be mad at Logan for doing this. If an opportunity like this presented itself to Jackson or Warren, they would have taken it as well. Jackson has applied to more conferences than anyone at this point. Warren did turn down the ECOL, but the ECOL presented long road trips and was probably not a realistic option. Now that the ECOL seems to be exploding in the same manor the SEOAL did, I think the lesson to be learned here is that you can't make a "super conference" of high school teams that are hours apart from each other. It's simply not realistic and destroys the core of the conference from within.
The downfall commenced with the expansion.
The irony to all of this is Jackson voted no on the expansion.
Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
I agree, and I don't think that is the only reason. Anyone who was around or cares about Warren leaving the TVC 30 years ago is either in a nursing home or dead. There is more to it than just a 30 year grudge.Abe Froman wrote:Mad for something 30 years ago is the definition of petty and small-minded.

Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
I would love to have Warren inbthe TVC but I don't have anything to do with that mess so all I can do is enjoy the league as it is now.
Now let's keep this thread on topic please.

It may as well branch out to other side topics because very few will be happy for LoganOrange and Brown wrote:I would love to have Warren inbthe TVC but I don't have anything to do with that mess so all I can do is enjoy the league as it is now.

I've seen several posts that are positive about this move.

This is good news for Logan but it also brings back out the SEOAL to TVC groupies again.

I think Warren may come knocking and I hope they get inAttack wrote:This is good news for Logan but it also brings back out the SEOAL to TVC groupies again.
Jackson will not be applying so it's safe to say it's over on that end
The reason Jackson and Warren think the tvc may be a home is because they're the only local league with similar size schools
VC d3
Athens d3
Meigs d4
Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
Congrats to Logan. I think everyone knew their new home would be north. Seems to be a great fit and the LCL will be getting a school with top notch facilities and a fan base that travels very well.
As for Warren and Jackson... Let them in. It's time.

Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
Bingo! This is exactly why Warren is not in the TVC today. Old grudges. I think Warren will one day return to the TVC, but we have to wait until the ones in power who are old enough to have this grudge are no longer in power and no longer have strong influences at certain schools in the TVC.Orange and Brown wrote:Warren can't get in for one reason and one reason only, Their are still schools mad about them leaving the TVC 30 years ago.
Sometimes you have to wait for older generations to die off before certain things can happen. This applies to all aspects of life.
Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
I know it's straying from topic but a lot of people think VC is the reason warren isn't in the TVC. I just want to point out that our super who had been in that position for many, many years, retired 3 years ago. 1 year before the last vote occurred. Just pointing that out.

Vinton County wasn't the only school that voted No.Dundas wrote:I know it's straying from topic but a lot of people think VC is the reason warren isn't in the TVC. Lol, we will give up the $2 parking fee for entry into the TVC (or any league for that matter).Dundas wrote:doubleplay643 wrote:I would like to cast my vote for Mayor to Dundas.Dundas wrote:Congrats to Logan. Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
I am thinking its a little dubious to consider a Logan move to the LCL to be a "slam dunk", at least at this point.
I am also curious about the LCL realigning the way posters are professing it will if Logan comes in. I am pretty sure Northridge and Utica, two smaller publics who both have issues of getting kids to come out and play, do not want to play Granville and Licking Valley in football and basketball. Northridge almost left not even two years into the existence of the current LCL.
