Tough to lose a player like Griffin Lutz. I'm glad he's got another year left to show out and get a scholarship, he's definitely earned one from what I've seen.

He has one from Ohio University. I know on Bobcat Attack they said Ohio, Akron, Dayton, Toledo, and Cornell. Also he's the 7th ranked junior in Ohio.danicalifornia wrote:Tough to lose a player like Griffin Lutz. Just scary to think if Parker, Ibi, and Lutz would have stayed at Athens. 3 top 10 ohio basketball players in rural SEO on Athens. Ibi to Michigan, Parker to Florida State or Memphis, Lutz to a MAC school

I know he has a visit to Wright State coming up.danicalifornia wrote:Tough to lose a player like Griffin Lutz. I'm glad he's got another year left to show out and get a scholarship, he's definitely earned one from what I've seen.

As a soon to be graduate of WSU, I pray that he ends up there. It would really help the Raiders.ShoeHorn wrote:I know he has a visit to Wright State coming up.danicalifornia wrote:Tough to lose a player like Griffin Lutz. I think Athens learned a lot about themselves last night after Lutz went down. They played well with out him and pulled out the win. Some say ..well VC had a player out too but with the way the Bulldogs played it showed that this team is just not all Lutz.ShoeHorn wrote:Unfortunately, the season for Griffin Lutz is over. I have no doubt that he will come back better than ever and on a mission next year.

Re: Athens Bulldogs @ Vinton County
There is a big difference playing 4 minutes without Lutz then there is 32 Minutes. Without him on that court will be HUGE and hard for any player to step up in that role.noreply66 wrote:I think Athens learned a lot about themselves last night after Lutz went down. Re: Athens Bulldogs @ Vinton County
Losing Lutz is a HUGE hit! He was not only the top scorer (around 24 per game), he was also the primary ball handler AND top rebounder (around 10 per game.)
That's a lot of production. What hurts most though is teams have been falling back into a zone to prevent Lutz from driving, which left other players open and room to operate. It will be totally different without him on the floor. Athens will need to come up with some sort of inside game to keep defenses honest. Losing Lutz is the same as losing your top PG and C at the same time. The only player that actually has a 'post game' and can score on the block with his back to the basket is Justin Hines, a 6'3 freshmen who plays JV. He was big enough, and strong enough, to post up the big 6'7 kid from Vinton last night and scored multiple times on him. I'm sure he could give the 'Dogs something inside, but he hasn't played varsity all year.

So sorry to hear about Lutz's injury. He is a special talent for sure.

He's not listed as having any offers at this point. He's a talent! But missing the AAU circuit will hurt that chase.

No offers on bobcat attack but OHHoops had an OU offer. It's pretty easy to tell he's a D1 basketball player. Lets just say he's a lot better than Stevie Taylor, KVK, and Setty

Re: Athens Bulldogs @ Vinton County
He'll be a senior to be this summer, Barlow. I dont think you play AAU at that age. I thought it was only for underclassmen or kids 17 or younger.
Re: Athens Bulldogs @ Vinton County
I was going to ask if it was "those danged Glouster refs." But then I caught the replay and it really was the same crew that Athens' coach chased off the court a few years ago and then ripped them in the paper forever dubbing them "those danged Glouster refs..." So this time I'm told the VC JV coach chased them off the floor. I wonder how Skinny likes them now?VC_jebro17 wrote:Just had to jab the officials didn't you? Game did not come down to them, it came down to wasted possessions somewhere in the course of the game, or a blown assignment somewhere, not the officials. But if it makes you feel better, blame away.
I'm so glad our fan base stays away from such petty BS
Not sure if you were at the game but the charge and technical against Bartoe were both very bad calls that did help change the outcome of the game so you call it how you see fit...if you were there then shame on you for not admitting the technical foul was the real petty BS as you say.
Have a good day sir!

Re: Athens Bulldogs @ Vinton County
It's funny, those three officials (CC, JN & RH), think they are the best officials around, just ask them.
Re: Athens Bulldogs @ Vinton County
The best around are Roy and Hootie and who ever they bring with them on a given night.ShoeHorn wrote:It's funny, those three officials (CC, JN & RH), think they are the best officials around, just ask them.

17 or younger would be Seniors to be. Unless in most places that's how old you are, not sure about where you are from.

Yeah, they never met a mirror they didn't like before. that shorter one has a real Napoleon complex. And the taller bald guy is just bad. I like the 3rd guy.

They have an 11th grade (to be) age limit - and you have to be 17 years old or younger.
AAU does offer another age group above the 17U. 19U, but I don't anyone close that has a 19 and under team.
