Division V, Region 17

Post by Jolly P(irate) »

With Wheelersburg winning last night it puts them in the top spot. Are we going to see another Burg/Ironton rematch? They are holding down the 8 spot.

Huge win by River Valley over Athens.
Tough road game at Shadyside next week. Shadyside will make the playoffs with a win.
Burg will be #1 with a win over West. Great win over Valley.
Alex destroyed Trimble. Big one with Meigs this week. Could maybe jump Zane Trace with a win.
Ridgewood and Harrison Central will likely play each other. Harrison Central lost to Creek on Friday.
Rock Hill will end at #6 or #7
Ironton DEFEATED Chesapeake. 21 play drive that took 11 minutes. Sounded like a great game.

It will come down to second level points in some cases.
Remember, there are some Saturday games next weekend that could make a difference.

The River Valley-Shadyside game is a huge game. Shadyside has played a tough schedule. Don't let their 3-6 record fool you. River Valley wins they will probably be #6. If they lose, Rock Hill will be #6. Then, there will be a mad scramble for #7-#8 between RV, Ironton and Coshocton.

If Alexander beats Meigs, they could challenge Zane Trace for #2 spot. I think ZT will hang on to the #2.

Prediction:

1. Wheelersburg
2. Zane Trace
3. Alexander
4. Ridgewood
5. Harrison Central
6. Rock Hill
7. River Valley
8. Ironton

The RV-Shadyside game is key to #6-#8. :D

How did Ironton punish Chesapeake? They won 21-14.

They had the ball most of the game. Chesapeake only had 7 plays in the first half.
Maybe I should have said "controlled" the game. Even though a Pick 6 early in the fourth gave them the lead.
I listened to it on WIRO. 8-)

Didn't Chesapeake lead 14-7 at some point in that game?

If they would have ever had the ball, it probably could have been worse than 14-7.

Rock Hill and Wheelersburg can pick up more points today if Oak Hill defeats Eastern PIke.

Don't forget that Jackson plays today too. That could be more points for Burg too

That is true. Forgot about that. That should be 5.5 second level points. I think Talawanda is winless, so Jackson should win.

Coshocton will be back in the 8th spot after today. They will get level 2 points from the winner of the Meadowbrook vs Bishop Rosecrans game today, Coshocton beat both teams.

Meadowbrook (D4) vs Bishop Rosecrans (D6)

If Meadowbrook wins Coshocton will have - 11.4040 points - If Bishop Rosecrans wins Coshocton will have - 11.5556 - to Irontons - 11.3788

We are cool Pirate. I actually lived in the Burg for 5 years.
#6-#8 is going to be a scramble between four teams. RH, RV, Ironton, Coshocton
Actually, Oak Hill with two wins is in the vicinity.

Ironton's D punished them. They held 4 /500 yard rushers & A 700 yard rushing QB, to under 195 yards. Throw out 2 60+ yd runs in a spread out offense, with one guy to get past each time that's 70 yds total rushing. The Peake had not shown it, all year according to announcers, on the iheartradio radio app,& during & after the game interviews. It happened in the second play of first offensive drive & right after HT.
Unfortunately the IHS D stuck it to the QB 2nd play of 3rd quarter, &he went out.
Frosh QB comes in & runs The first play for 0 yards in the shotgun, Then spreads it out fast & there's the other long run.
It was 7-7 @ half.
14-7 CHS until the 4th.
IHS had 3/10+minute, 16+ play drives that kept Peake's very potent spread offense the field.
I HS converted on 3rd & 4th downs on very long drives, keeping the ball.
Lowest yard & point output for CHS since 9-3 win over new Albany Alexander.

Both teams lost 2-way starters.
Palladino did not play & his unsolved back injury remains a mystery& is still being tested.
If ihs wins next week against South point, they are OVC champs, in a much tougher league than I definitely thought it would be .
