It's official! The Nelsonville-York Buckeyes have their man and are ready to move forward.
It should be interesting to see who ends up on the staff. Lots of new have been thrown around.

He was one of Phil's long time assistants at Trimble.
He knows the game as well as anyone and is well respected.

That's a pretty good hire. From a personal standpoint, I'm glad he got it. I've always liked Rusty - and he's a mid 90's grad - so you can't go wrong picking from that age group. lol

As a person who works in the media, I'm really glad he got it! He's always been helpful in the past with stats and such when I needed them ... I'm sure I can count on him as a head coach to provide me with the info I need when it comes to the Buckeyes.

Congrats Rusty ... Good luck weeks 1-9, and then 11 and beyond!

He picks his staff but it has to be approved by the school board. That's just how it works. Most of the time it's just a formality.

You're either with him or you're not, but if the community doesn't get behind him everyone is just setting him up for failure.
He will do a great job.

No I don't. The Bucks need to go beyond what they were before the turmoil. For christsakes, they haven't won a playoff game in how long??

The past is the past. Time to move forward. He will be a good coach. He deserves a chance and now he has it.

Rusty is a really good guy. Has been at N-Y teaching for awhile. Knows the game better than many people. Has a very good plan for the Buckeyes. Assistant will probably named soon. Rusty will get those boys in the weight room soon. Big things to come out of this coming season class. Canter, Mount, Edwards, Andrews, Davis, Carter, Odenthal, Berry, Chilcothe, Blake, O'nail, Hunley, all of these are returning seniors who we should see playing this year. Other impact players could be Wend, Cook, Maiden, Speelman, both Yingers, Bruce, Koping, Richards, McCollister. Even a couple players that will be Frosh could see some time like Wilburn, Seel, Jones. This could be a big year for the Buckeyes and now with Rusty it can be bigger.

Good luck Rusty and all the Buckeyes this year! My prediction is '16 TVC Champs! Go Bucks!!

It's going to be a good ride moving forward. I'm sure their will be a hiccup or 2 this season but it's going to workout just fine.

He coached at southern previously. Didn't have much success but who does at southern. Spent last few years with the tomcats. Loves to run the QB or best athlete direct snap so should be a big year for Hunter Edwards. Ny has a lot coming back so should have 8-2 year !

Inside scoop, I hear him and Jay Kline are pretty close in the middle school teaching tgthr...so wouldn't be surprised if Kline is on the staff....I believe also there is a Kline on the school board so

Nelsonville to me is one of the top job in the TVC and one of the top in the whole area . No offense to any other team , but so much tradition at Nelsonville York.

I will say this congrats Coach Richards welcome to the staff. Both my boys love ya, the lil guy never stops talking about ya . Hope the football program will send us a few wrestler, That has been a problem over the years and the wrestlers are OK. Great Hire. Lets move forward.

This is a great hire for NY. This however is not his first stop at NY. He coached the last couple of years at NY when Meade was the head coach but wasn't asked back when Boston took over. I think he's been teaching at NY for about 15 years. Very good guy from a good family. He knows more about NY tradition than a lot of NY fans. He's ready for this and we are excited to have him. Good luck coach Richards and the Buckeyes.
