Re: SCOL Expanding?
I hear what you are saying Poo.
Jackson to SOC or OVC for that matter never made a lot of sense to me, but that is different than "soc sucks in football" to use your characterization.
See you in Week 5, buckle your chinstrap.

Lol, well I would have a hard time myself bucking one over my double chin, so we just sit on sidelines and enjoy a slobberknocker.

Yeah it should be another hard hitting affair

I think competition wise over a number of sports in addition to football, which is the one sport we seem to get most discussion about, that we will be much better in the next 4+ years.
We may surprise some people by being competitive in sports not called football.
Oh, and no one wants to see Poo in a helmet btw.

Re: SCOL Expanding?
I guess this has been talked about on yappi for a couple weeks now on another thread there.
http://www.yappi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=288626
Also, on the first yappi thread I posted the link to, they are also saying there will be a press release tomorrow for the 5 SCOL teams leaving the league to join with Jackson.

I guess Clinton Massie coaches told the kids today that big changes to the SCOL would be announced tomorrow.

Just looking on Twitter, it appears that a lot of local media is catching on to the expected announcement by the SCOL later today (Friday).

Wilmington will be a FA as well. I look for them to join in with Bellbrook in their league. That's not a bad drive for the Hurricane and similar sized schools.
I would find it funny if Jackson said no to these 5 schools and it just left them with a 5 team league.

haha, That would really put SCOL in bind if Jackson backs out. I don't see that happening. They can't get accepted into any other leagues. From what I am hearing, the 5 remaining SCOL schools have already talked with Unioto and Waverly about joining. Dani can you confirm this?

I can't confirm Unioto. I asked around yesterday and my people had not heard anything about it. So, if there have been discussions, they are in the beginning phases.thecommonwealth wrote:danicalifornia wrote:Wilmington will be a FA as well. Re: SCOL Expanding?
The SCOL makes little sense for Waverly as they would experience increased travel times and expenses. Competition wise, Waverly has
already had a bad experience in football when they moved from the SOC to SEOAL back in the 70's and early 80's. Staying in the SOC or moving to the SVC if Unioto leaves seems to me to be the best answer for the Tiger program. A six team SCOL with the addition of Jackson and the subtraction of Wilmington and Massie would be the best solution for all involved

I am told East Clinton is out also.
I personally love 8 team leagues. Play everyone once in football and still have 3 non league games. Im not a fan of finding 4-5 non league games. For basketball it makes sense too, 14 of your 22 are league. I personally am not a fan of splitting leagues and playing crossover games. I would like to see the SCOL find two southeast schools to join them and get back to 8 schools. In my mind there are 4-6 schools that they could invite. I just don't see anyone wanting to join.

Re: SCOL Expanding?
I believe Waverly was asked and actually attended some discussions along with some other schools and entertained the idea but for whatever reason decided to withdraw from consideration.

Re: SCOL Expanding?
The article states that the schools will leave at conclusion of 2016/2017 school year. I assumed it would take place at the end of this year. The 3 clinton county schools must still need to find leagues to join.

Re: SCOL Expanding?
With the possibility of a league merger, that means the 5 SCOL members can merge with the 3 SEOAL members and start a new 8 team league lol kidding guys, the 5 SCOL members would never allow Warren in, Logan would stand a better chance of getting in, but it's not too good.
