Logan and Warren will exit the SEOAL and the 5 teams will join Jackson to continue the oldest league in the state.

If it happened that way, there would be a lot of VERY unhappy people on this site. They've been waiting with bated breath for the SEOAL to die.

My guess is that it will be a "new" league when all is said and done, but I would love it if the SEOAL could somehow live on.

East Clinton has several leagues that they can join. With their size, they will be fine.

Clinton Massie and Wilmington could stick together and join another bigger league. The GWOC could be an option. Neither one has a rough trip to the Dayton area.

The ECC has been mentioned as a possible landing point. The SWBL has been too but the SWBL has declined teams last couple years. I also think the drive from wilmington to eaton would be too far.

Size wise , Vinton County would fit this league better than Unioto or Circleville/Logan Elm travel wise it is not that much farther and closer for Jackson and Chillicothe.

In what world would Vinton County be a better fit travel wise than Unioto? Unioto is literally 2 miles from Chillicothe and less than 40 miles from any of the other schools.

Hillsboro to Vinton County is an hour and a half and 72 miles.

These districts have indicated a desire to merge with an existing league or inviting other schools to join them in forming an eight-team league commencing with the start of the 2017-2018 school year.

The SCOL has recently been approached by Jackson City Schools about joining the league; however, the size and location of Jackson presents a concern for some Clinton County districts that do not favor the addition. Chillicothe, McClain, Hillsboro, Miami Trace, Washington Court House, as well as Jackson all participate in the Southeast District and range in enrollment from just under 3,000 (Chillicothe) to just over 2,000 (Greenfield).

I also think Unioto's facilities are a bit lacking for this league.

“Jackson has great facilities, as they are second to none, and their administration is great, and I know them firsthand,” Stevens said. “As for the new deal …. I look at it as we’ll be seeing new faces in competition. For our us, we just want to keep building our programs. We’ve emphasized this with our coaches, and they’ve picked up the ball and run with it

Not sure what your beef with Unioto is lol, Unioto isn't leaving the SVC.

I also don't know why Vinton County would even want to leave the TVC Ohio how it is right now.

no beef, I like Unioto, I agree they are not leaving the SVC, I am just talking numbers.
I am just looking at schools that might go into this league. My point was that none of the schools mentioned but Logan has as many boys as most of the schools in the new league. Not sure they will get anyone else to join them.

I would love to see a new league with Waverly 217boys, Unioto 229 boys, Zane Trace 181 boys, Circleville 227 boys, Greenfield 225 boys and Logan Elm 231 boys in it.

A good day for the Jackson kids, solid job by the administration, BOE and everyone that got this done.

Hope for EC, Wilmington, and CM that it works out for them, sounds like there are quite a few options, but with a year to sort things out it seems to be something that will get done for them.

I honestly think this new South Central Ohio Conference (SCOC) I gave it a name, would be a good fit for Waverly, not sure everyone in Waverly agrees but it would be a good way to add wrestling and probably increase attendance at Basketball games. also a 5 team football league(SOC 1) is a nightmare for scheduling.

Just read something else that said Jackson is joining the schools that left the SCOL in a new league?? Is it the SCOL or a different league with those other schools?

The schools that just left the SCOL will join with Jackson to form a new league and will potentially be adding additional teams in the future.

In reading the following article, it seems like the Clinton County schools weren't necessarily opposed to expansion.
