As much as it pains me to say it.... Same would happen with basically any SE Ohio team.
4 more points and Western is doing a littlebetter than you expected....I don't know why folk think that there's so much of a huge gap between teams from bigger city's etc...AAU has balanced the field out...you will always have the few elite players but that's where it stops. I'm going to say it again....WESTERN CAN PLAY WITH ANY D4 TEAM LEFT IN THE TOURNAMENT. IF THEY ARE HITTING SHOTS THEY CAN BEAT ANY TEAM LEFT, NO MATTER WHAT LEAGUE THEY PLAY IN OR WHO THEY PLAY.

History backs up that there is a gap between Central and SE. The SE district hasn't beaten central district in the D4 tournament since 2009. In years past there have been some huge Central district over SE district blowouts.

Think you might be reading far into bbjunky's prediction. I saw it as metaphorical, as in "Western is going to be huge underdogs." IDK, he can speak for himself.

Finish strong, Jags!

Unfortunately the final was way too close to bbjunky81's prediction. At the half , thought it would be a lot closer game. Either way I couldn't be more proud of the boys from Latham for what they were able to accomplish this year

It only took 35 minutes for someone to say it!

Wonder if that is a new record...

Sad to see Western lose but happy for Coach Miller. Western coaches that reach the regional finals are ran out of town.

Miller has done an outstanding job.

I couldn't help myself. Wellington vs Africentric should be a good rematch game. 71-67 win by Africentric

Great first half for the Indians. But, the fast pace of the game got into their legs. They could stay with Wellington when fresh, but the athletic ability of the Jaguars took over in the second half. We had no lift to our shots. Just out of gas. Couldn't recover from the quick 10-0 run to start the third. This run will do wonders for Coach Millers program in Latham. Glad to see so many out to support the Indians on their historic run. If you would have told me after the first game of the season when they were beaten by Green at home that this team would go to the regionals I would have laughed. Great job boys! The grittiest bunch of players Ive seen in a while. They didn't give in till the end.

Gonna be interesting to see this team next year in the stacked SOC1.

As a matter of fact, my prediction was much closer than you're giving credit for.

And, I wasn't rooting for Wellington, nor did I want Wellington to win by a lot. However, Western was (unfortunately) the major underdogs here, so I was just speaking my mind.

Your team hasn't played in the Regionals since who knows when, obviously you're unfamiliar with the territory. It's a whole new world once the Central District comes down and the inner city teams square off with SE Ohio teams. It takes an exceptional SE Ohio team with an exceptional coach to get over that hump (Oak Hill years ago, South Webster, etc.)

Western had a great season and has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of!

Western definitely gave it all they had. Being as close as they were at the half, I was very impressed.

Less than a minute to go (down 25), and still diving on the floor after a loose ball. That takes heart to still give every inch of effort they had in them. Nonetheless, great tourney run. Looking forward to next year.

Congrats to Kyle Miller and the Western Indians on an outstanding season. Great tournament run and I'm sure Kyle coaches like he played. "With Passion"
