We were very grateful to have him and he turned out program into one of the best in the state of Ohio. I'm sure he felt it was time to go with his daughter excelling at Dayton and him racing. From all of us at Eastern we say thank you to him. This has to be the most wanted job openings this year
Might be time for Howie to coach a girls program. The guy is a proven winner.

SWJeeps22- I was hired last night to become the Dean of Students, Athletic Director and Head Boys Basketball Coach at Georgetown High School. Needless to say it was an opportunity that I could not pass up. I very much enjoyed my time at West Portsmouth and thank all of those who were involved in our season.

Congrats! Best of luck, I had heard something like that but didn't want to speculate.dwmiami wrote:SWJeeps22- I was hired last night to become the Dean of Students, Athletic Director and Head Boys Basketball Coach at Georgetown High School. West Porstmouth job will be filled at the next board meeting. Didn't want to say anything until Doug made official his leaving. Will let the person who was offered the job spill the rest.

Whoever it is, hopefully the Portsmouth West Girls program can climb out of this state of disarray it has been plagued with lately. Best of luck to Coach Williams, hate to see him go, but understand he cannot pass up that opportunity. Go Senators!
Re: Coaching Openings
Congrats Coach Claytor and Portsmouth West. It is a great fit for both. No one will work harder and put more time in that Coach Claytor. Hopefully he is appreciated there.

Just heard that the new HS media teacher (?), who came from Southeastern Ross is the top candidate. Formerly coached at Adena with good results.ArmChairQB wrote:I hear that only 3 people have applied for the job and their credentials are VERY lacking!Spiderjon wrote:Is the Eastern job really open? Hate to see Burdette leave. Good luck to him as he moves on. Guess some of the parents got what they wanted. I predict the next coach won't be as good as John.
