Actually I've been to busy to post, Halloween is my busy month, plus there's no use posting ad nauseam about this game. I'm sitting back laughing at all you football geniuses talk about this game.
I decided to break up the nauseousness of being "butt hurt" with some laughter.

Anyone familiar with the college recruiting process for football? My brother plays on the line for Burg and he has been getting game invites for some division 1 football teams. We went to Indiana university at the beginning of the year and are going to another D1 college next Saturday. He hasn't had any offers brought to him yet, but these schools keep inviting him to home games. He also has other colleges offering game invites as well, but nothing else has been offered. I was curious if colleges wait until after high school season is over or what.

Game day is here. I hope the players are ready and the weather is dry. There has been some very entertaining reading within the 19 pages the past few days. Everyone seems to have all the answers about how their team is going to win this football game. Wheelersburg is focused and have prepared well. They are one as a team fighting for each other. The bond between all of these young men is very strong. Although possible but very unlikely, Ironton will not win this game. Fearless, Bold, Tough!!! Burg by 3 TD's

that is awesome. Indiana has a very nice program going. this is something to be proud of. and I'm not really sure how that whole process works. but good luck to him.

raining here in waverly currently. the weather said it was supposed to be 73 here today and dry till about midnight. not a hard rain but rain none the less.

here's to what I hope is a fighting tiger victory. and a safe, clean, injury free game.

When the playoffs roll around, I support EVERY team from SE Ohio. Just so you all know, they consider this to be the armpit of the state. So you all bragging about who's the best is bragging about who is the best OF THE WORST. How bout whoever wins, we ALL support them and hope a state championship comes back to SE Ohio for a change. When was the last one - 1989?? By BOTH of these teams in the same year??? (I was there) Come on fellas - can't we all just get along?

Is Wheelersburg the favorite - Easy YES

Can Ironton win this game - Only if they bring their A+++ game and play mistake free

Please support whoever wins as they move forward - the kids deserve it from the entire SE community.

I think it's hilarious to see people question SE Ohio and their success In playoffs.
It is stupid to expect SE Ohio to win or play for state championships in Division 1. WE HAVE NO D1 TEAMS!!
Division 2..? 1 or 2.....
Division 3..? 2 or 3
Come on!!
Who the hell thinks that's a fair way of knowing our brand of football here??
The only reason that they look at SE Ohio football that way is because our biggest school (Logan) can't put together a program that can play with the rest of the big schools in Ohio. And that's the only big school in SE. Ohio.
Athens did something Logan couldn't. And got to the show. But everyone else is smaller.
You wanna know the truth? I don't give a darn what northern Ohio thinks of us. I have my own opinion of Northern Ohio. For starters, Cleveland is there.
Advantage US....
That part of the state has never acknowledged us until election time. And the politicians in Columbus do nothing in this area for us.
But they like our corn.
They like our farmland that supports them.
They like our traditional values at Christmas time.
And they think our hills and fall foliage is beautiful.
Other than that, screw them.
Good luck to all the (D4 and smaller) teams that we have that are in the playoffs.
Because that's all that's here anyway.
It shouldn't even be a conversation.

It's game day Pirates!!!

Go out on that field tonight and take care of business. You are not done in achieving all of your goals.

Go undefeated-Check

Win the SOC- Check

Make the playoffs-Check

Win a state championship=?

This years team reminds me so much of the 1989 State Championship team. The 89 team had a good run/pass mix just as this years team does. Both had a stud Sophomore at Linebacker- 89-Chris Ellis 15-Xander Carmichael. Both teams defense was lights out.

By going undefeated this years team has the chance to win the most games in school history by going 15-0.

Good luck Pirates! Leave it all on that field and play like a champion.

Good Luck tonight Pirates. Ironton poses problems because of the familiarity the teams have with each other. I do think that Wheelersburg is the better overall team and will get the win however. I really don't like all the talk about being State Champs this early. There's a region to be won first.
Food for thought: Zane Trace's goal is to make it to the State also and they have achieved all the same goals that Wheelersburg has so far.
One Game at a Time.
Go Burg.

THAT WAS A MAGICAL YEAR FOR IRONTON AND WHEELERSBURG, BOTH WINNING STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS THAT YEAR. AND ALL OF THE GAMES WHERE THEY NEED TO BE AT ''THE HORSESHOE''

By going undefeated this years team has the chance to win the most games in school history by going 15-0.

Good luck Pirates! Leave it all on that field and play like a champion.
